How do u reset password..with out password...lost it

Hi jerryboeck...

Try this solution to your problem.
Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F1,F2 or F8" as the laptop computer starts.(Depending on your computer)
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Compaq Presario SR1000 won't boot up completely :(

Hi Thanks for your question
I would suggest to enter "safe mode" and then do system restore again. To do this you need to follow these steps.
1.Turn your PC on and press F8 on start up. This should take you to the screen asking what you want to do. 2. Choose safe mode from the list and press enter. 3. Once safe mode loads you should be asked if you want to restore your system to previous state. Just press no to run system restore and follow steps (you already know how to do this)
Shutting your computer down without closing operation system properly may cause start up issues like this one.
I hope this helps you. Good luck

I have a compaq presario sr5010nx and it wont sart is says a path way is stopping it

hi.. Try hitting on F8 button after restarting the computer again and again in quick sessions.. it should go to WINDOWS ADVANCED OPTIONS.. select the options that says.. SAFE MODE.. if ur able to go to desktop screen.. go to start -- all programs -- accesories - system restore.. and restore the computer to an earlier date and time..
if ur unable to do so .. then my friend.. ur computer is in serious trouble.. and u will have to perform a Factory Reset on ur computer.. to do that.. restart the computer again.. and then start tapping F11.. once on that screen u need to select the option.. I need Help Immediately or Advanced.. there select option.. SYSTEM RECOVERY or FACTORY RESET.. but before u do that.. remove any device connected to ur computer apart from Keyboard Mouse and Monitor an Power Supply.. once u start.. it will ask to take back up which u can do there.. and then select next once done.. and ur computer should be up in approximately 30 mins.. :-P regards

Monitor goes blank after seeing XP during boot up.

did u replace the video card with the same kind of model ? i guess yes ... when system starts hit the f8 key and than go in to safe mode ... mouse wont work so use arrow on the keyboard .. and in the safe mode just log in to admin account if available or login to ur account and see if that still happens .. and if it doesnt ... remove the drivers for the graphic card from add and remove programs and restart the system and go in the normal mode and than install the drivers again ... and if the display disappears in the safe mode or u have install a different graphic card than ... reseat the memory cards and that should resolve the issue .... if that doesnt work out when the system starts hit f1 and stay on the BIOS screen for 30 mins if the system doesnt loose display than u need to reinstall OS ... that will surely work out ... the resolutions given above if u follow them correctly u will have a working system in no time

Hi,

Try doing a System Restore, once you have booted up in Safe Mode, to a time before you had the problem.

Hope this helps
