Can't access Euro currency symbol on the keyboard

My Kensington 'Comfort Type Multimedia Keyboard' has the Euro symbol on the 5-% pad, to the right of the number 5. I have tried pressing & holding down 'Ctrl' and 'Alt' both together & separately as I have on other keyboards but to no avail. I have gone into Control Panel - Regional & Language - keyboard symbols which gives the Euro sign as a demonstration of currency but can't see a way further . My operating system is Vista Business.

I have just bought a MX5500 keyboard and mouse. As a UK citizen I need to be able to type a pound sign and a euro sign but this is a US keyboard. Can you help

Unfortunately, a US keyboard is set up to send out keycodes for the US symbols. If you're using Windows 7, this information from Microsoft may be helpful. For XP, you can try changing your regional settings in the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options). You can try changing the keyboard layout and see what happens.

One sure way to get the symbols from any keyboard is by using alt codes. Hold down the ALT key and (on the numeric pad) press 0128 for the Euro symbol (€). ALT-0163 gives you the Pound Sterling symbol (£).

+keyboard with Acer AspireE500-A970. How do I access the Euro symbol (lower case with Number 4) on the keyboard? Arthur

To type the Euro sign in Windows, you press the alt key+0128. As for the Sterling pound symbol, you can type it by pressing the alt key+0163. You can have a look at this site where it lists ways to type different currency symbols:
http://www.fonts.com/fontent/fontent_home.asp?nCo=AFMT&con=fyti_currency

Please note that you have to type the 4-digit code on the numeric keypad (do not use the normal number keys) while holding down the Alt key.

Hope this helps.

€ = right ALT + "E" (or, left CTRL + ALT + "E")

£ = right ALT + "L" (or, left CTRL + ALT + "L")

Hope this helps.

Apple key no longer working

The Kensington keyboard is being recognised as a PC-style keyboard, and the software has swapped the action of Apple (Command) and Alt (Option). Go to System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse, and set the Modifier keys correctly in the Keyboard panel.
