You may be using the wrong procedure. Some receivers require you to manually tune to the desired station, then press memory.

I have the HK AVR 65 Amp. After power failure I loose all my preset settings.

Hi, there is a super capacitor on the front panel PCB (C 906), value:
0.1F 5.5 V.
Just replace it, and hope it will resolve the problem.

Will not retain presets

Many times a capacitor is used in place of an actual battery. On Harman Kardon receivers this component is on the front side circuit board behind the receivers external display. Harman Kardons website provides the actual location and part number if you dig around for the service manual PDF.

I have a Harman Kardon receiver Type AVR 500 RDS. Can I set it to 5ohz or 60 hz as I wish?

Should only set to frequency of your power supply otherwise may damage your receiver

You may have to 'overwrite' the existing stations.

One speaker output does not seen to work. All wires are tight.

Check for a cold or broken solder connection inside the unit. The left and the right channels are almost identical circuitry. Compare the good channel to the bad one.

Harman Kardon HK 3270. The receiver looses the presets at power off.Is there a battery to be replaced for storage of the presets?

I believe it is actually a memory capacitor that has to be replaced. It is soldered directly into the board and requires quite a bit of know-how to replace.

Hope this helps,

Harman Kardon AVR 7000 loosing memory

This is what's in the AVR7000 service manual:

Subject: Backup Memory on AVR/DPR/HK series receivers.
In the event of the complaint: “the receiver is losing its memory (any programmed system settings)
when the unit is turned off, or after the unit is unplugged (briefly*)”:

Check and replace:
Model: AVR7000
Designator: C730
Location: Front PCB
Description: 0.047 Farad 5.5v capacitor
Part number: # P10790-ND or # J3432147324X

I'm having the same problem and this is how far i got so far. I don't kwow how to get and replace this part.
