The 'universal' remote isn't; they are just cheap.

Someone should bring a suit against any of these manufacturers using the term 'universal.'
At best, they are 'multibrand' and, with the proliferation of 'brands,' there never will be one that can rightfully claim to be 'universal.'
There may never be a code for your brand available in every remote.

Tips for a great answer:

1. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH
button until the red indicator stays
on, then release the CODE SEARCH
2. Press and release the desired Mode
button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red
indicator blinks, then stays lit.
