When plugged in & turned on... It doesn't do anything... No lights at all.

Check the outlet that it's plugged into, to make sure that the outlet is still active and a circuit breaker in your home's breaker panel hasn't been tripped. If nothing else, plug the unit into another outlet, that's on a different circuit.

The night light turns on, nothing else works.

check the humidastat, its the setting on how much humidity you want . your supposed to turn on to high speed for a couple of minutes and then switch to low to keep filter wet. the humidity level will affect the on and off operation. other than that test the plug with another appliance such as a lamp to see if plug is good, the night light will work for awhile without power for some reason.

There is no water flowing, i just replaced the solinoid, could it be the humistat? 700 sieries aprilaire

Could be, test it...if you have an OHM meter, set it to resistance and disconnect the humidstat. With the humidistat set all way on, you should get 0 ohms, if not it is bad. You most likely have a wire not connected somewhere, You need to have 24 volts at the solenoid when the heater is on and the humidistat > than existing humidity %. That is the bottom line. So check first at the electrical plug that the transformer is plugged into, if it does not use a wall transformer, test the furnace circuit board to see that you are getting 24Volts from the HUMIDIFIER TERMINALS when the HEAT IS ON. Then check the humidistat like I stated above. Solenoid is good cuz you replaced it.

When I plug the unit in it gives a puff of smoke and kicks my breaker

Sounds like you have a pinched or bare wire inside the unit. If it has louvers for ventilation, I would try this experiment, but just once, and it needs to be at night. Reset the breaker, and get a small flashlight. Go to the unit and get it ready to plug in. Turn off the lights in the room and make sure it is really quiet, use the flashlight to get to the unit and the plug. Looking at the unit, turn off the flashlight and plug it in. You should listen for a crack or pop (the sound of the short) and watch inside the unit for a spark (the location of the short). If my hunch is correct, you will find the problem and be able to repair it. If not, then I would recommend calling out a tech or taking the unit to a repair depot. Good Luck.

No water going to furnace humidifier

The furnace should be equipped with a #50 relay to turn the Humidifier on and off when only when the furnace blower is on. You should have a test mode on your humidistat. Do you have water coming up to the solenoid valve? Make sure that the saddle valve is turned on to supply the water to the humidifier. Is your humidistat set high enough to turn the humidifier on? Is it plugged in?

Located My Manual:
Hope this helps!

1. Remove tank from base. Turn upside down and unscrew filling cap. Fill tank with clean, cool, distilled, or tap water. Water temp should NEVER be too hot or too cold. Return tank to base and let sit for a few minutes. Be sure the filling cap of the tank is tightened firmly.

2. Plug power cord into a 110-120V AC wall outlet only. Turn power switch to "on" position. Power light will illuminate. Turn mist nozzle until desired level is being released. Aim nozzle away from furniture and walls.

3. Always turn humidifier off when water runs* out. Unit will continue to operate when tank is empty.
*Humidifier will run up to 12 hrs on low; 6 hrs on high.

DO NOT LET WATER SIT IN TANK FOR LONG. THIS CAN ENCOURAGE BACTERIAL GROWTH.
Place unit on level surface away from direct sunlight.
DO NOT ADD MEDICATION OF ANY TYPE INTO THE NOZZLE, BASE, OR WATER TANK.
ALWAYS LEAVE ROOM DOOR PARTLY OPEN. DO NOT MOVE, TILT, OR EMPTY WHILE OPERATING.

Mild bleach and water solution for cleaning, never detergent.
Clean every 3rd day during use. Clean after long storage
Humidity varies from room to room. Aim for 30 - 50% relative humidity. If windows/ walls fog or frost, reduce mist intensity. If room too humid, ventilate by opening door or window; adjust mist intensity.
