Question about GE 74801 Clock Radio

1 Answer

Blank screen This has happened several times with the GE alarm clock 7-4801. I have it set to go off at a certain time and the alarm to be a CD track. That works and I am half asleep and I push the snooze button and then i don't know what happens but I fall back asleep and then wake up and the whole screen is blank like it's frozen and I have to unplug it for it to be able to set it up again. I'm doing something wrong half asleep in a certain sequence that's causing this and if I knew what i was doing, maybe I would stop. It's made me late for work several times. Thanks.

For the Trutech cd clock radio (cd1189) I am attempting to get it to play a particular cd track as an alarm. Is this possible, or can I only play the first track?

I think it will only play the first track.
You can "rip" the original CD and then "burn" the track you want to a blank CD as track 1. I believe this is the only way possible.

GE Alarm clock

you probably have it on "wake up cd track", in the front, press the wake 1, or wake 2 button (depending on what the alarm is set on) until the little bell is on the side, that should make it ring, louder and louder :)

Push the SET WAKE/TIME button on the far right of all the buttons - it's the button closest to the CD player. Push it until the 1 or 2 show up on the display - whichever one you want to use. The push the CD player's forward button - the one with the two right-facing arrows - until the time you want to wake up shows up in the display. That's it. To turn the alarm off, push the WAKE CANCEL button, below the set wake/time button, the push the 1 or 2 button, depending on which alarm you want to turn off. The display will show OFF in the alarm you chose.

Complicated GE clock radio/CD player

To set the time:
Hit the SET Wake/Time Button closest to the CD player until the clock face appears in the bottom left hand of the display.

Use the TRACK Rev Search Fwd Arrows to adjust the time.
Rev will decrease by minutes and Fwd will increase by minutes.

Hope this helps.

Midnight alarm feature never seen before

I am having the same problem. IT's so weird because I had owned the radio for many years before this ever happened for the first time? I unplugged it and this solved the problem for several months and again all of a sudden I am woken up every morning at 1 am. Any long term solutions?

Changing between the buzz and cd setting for alarm clock

From the manual (miraculously, I still have it)...

To switch the alarm sound between buzzer, church bells, radio or CD, press MODE one time, and then press REPORT.

If CD is selected, press TUNING up (>>+) or down (-<<) to select desired wake-up track.

When alarm sounds, press ALM ON/OFF to silence alarm and reset it for the next day.

SNOOZE-BOOST

To postpone the alarm once it sounds, press SNOOZE/LIGHT. Each press of this button will add 10 minutes to the postponement time. (Pressing three times will give you a 30-minute delay).
