I think you need to get the latest firmware and load it. You should be able to stop the bootup as soon as you power it on.

Date error


Change the date back before the 14th April and you can play again. To be able to use the current date (date after 14 April), you have to update the firmware of your R4 card.
There is one available for the R4iSDHC version 1.16B.

Cartridge problems


If it is an original R4 on a DSi, that will not work, try an M3i Zero, because the most cards support 1.3 and under, this one supports all versions, try that, mate.

Take out the game cartridge then boot it up, then go to settings and change boot up to manual.

Remove the game cartridge and try it again. During the boot sequence is when the DS tries to activate the port and check of it is going to load a game from there, or use the internal sequence and load the menu.

Our new nintendo ds won't play a used game.


Have you tried the game in another DS Lite? Maybe the contacts are tarnished so it's not detecting a proper game inserted.

Need Help With my Nintendo DS


You need to tell us a bit more about the problem. Do you get anything on the screens? Do the screens just stay white? Describe the problem in a bit more detail and there might be a solution. The first thing to do would be to clean the contacts on the game cartridge with a pencil eraser. Check the pins inside the cartridge slot on the DS. Are any of them bent or distorted? Is the cartridge slot clear of any debris? You can get cans of air from high street electronic stores (Maplins in the UK) to give it a good blast.

Game Cartridge is not booting up


oh dear, one of the games is infected with a virus, dnt delete any of the saves i did and then it killed my card, i was told to format the card, you might have the chance for it to start working again, but i had to buy a new one for nearly £40 i hope you succeed
