I suggest you uninstall the Casio USB driver from Control Panel'system'device manager then Reboot the PC without the USB cable.
Download latest USB driver from :- http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=20
64 or 32 bits versions are both available.
Load driver first. Plug in the usb cable only when software tells you to do so.
Uninstall Data manager if wrong version.
Install IDES 4.0
1. Go to devices and printers.
2. Double click SAMSON Carbon49 to open
3. Hardware > properties > General > Change settings > Driver > Uninstall.
4. Turn off the device and turn it back on.
5. Hardware > properties > General > Change settings > Driver > Roll back driver.
Should work now
From the information I have, the unit will need to be repaired. No quick fix to repair for a blank display problem. Either the cable to the LCD screen became detached or the display is bad. The cable will be internal.
Make sure that you have the correct midi mapping for your Yamaha. There should have been a software program, called a mid map editor (MME), that came with your keyboard. If you are unfamiliar with this, it is used for changing the values that are sent through the midi cable into your computer (for example, you can change the C0 to be C#0, or any other value, including a numeric value instead of a tonal value). If you bought it used there may have been values changed on midi-trigger presets, which would cause this. If you do have the program, use it to at least investigate that all of the values are in the right places. Often times when someone who is unfamiliar with an MME installs it they open it to see what it is. They change things (not realizing they have done that) and then can't figure out why there is a problem. Also, make sure your midi cable has the same connections as your keyboard. Some brands make very slight variations to avoid patent issues that may make some cables and instruments incompatible. I have two cables that work fine with certain midi controllers, but when switched they both fail. It's good to make sure the plug ports are clean of dust/dirt, too. If you are familiar with these problems and they are not yours, you may need to get a different cable. Try to borrow one from a friend to see if the cable is the problem before you buy one. If that still doesn't fix it you may have an internal software or hardware issue. Good luck! I hope I could help.
The keyboard will NOT show up on MY COMPUTER as it does not have memory to record and save MIDI files... It will PLAY them real time as the computer sends the data to the keyboard. You can't transfer and save the files IN the keyboard. Some higher level keyboards do have memory and even hard drives... this one does not. This one will have some built in,that you can play but even those you cannot access as if they were memory.
With the USB cable connected, you should be able to see the device listed in the device manager section of the control panel under system hardware.
MIDI isn't audio, think of it as a sheet of music. It still needs to be played to be heard. Not sure of your recording setup but the midi performance that you have needs to trigger a keyboard or drum machine or VST instrument of some sort.
1. Try reinstalling the softpre software.
2. Read through their FAQ at:
3. Contact samson directly at email@example.com with your problem.
we should have a mic pin and audio cable as shown in this pic
connect these cables, and connect big pin to the piano and small pin to the computer (mic or input jack)
now take windows movie maker (start-all programs-windows movie maker). click on narrate timeline (as a mic icon below windows movie maker).
now click start narration on the pc and play your song on the piano. you can see input level highlights. now your song is recording. when your song completes click stop narration and save to the pc. walah if you can't understand this say to me. i can add video. sry for my worst english
