Question about Maytag LSE7806A Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer

1 Answer

Insufficient heat I have a Maytag LSG7806AAE and it takes forever (>1hr) to dry the smallest load. There is heat, but perhaps just not enough?!?

I should have mentioned that the venting has been checked out and it is fine.

    Thanks!

I would start by checking the venting for obstructions. disconect the hose and try a load. dont leave the hose off for too many loads as the lint and moisture will go into the room.

I have seen on some gas appliances where the ignitor may light up but does not pull enough amperage to open the gas valve. not sure what the amperage should be on that model, it should be in the service sheets. you will need an amp clamp type meter to read it.

Error code f 70 and 71

F 70 overloaded
F 71 suds detect

To review: You got too many clothes up in here and you is using too much soap. These machines measure the weight. Take some things out or if you only have a small load add some things. It also measures the water quality in a load to determine IF a load is clean enough. Too much detergent throws the machine off. Then it trys to correct the problem many times and that heats up the motor and wrecks the sensors.

Basic rule of thumb:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash load

HE 2X (double concentrated) : (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X (triple concentrated): (1) Teaspoon

This reduces/prevents:

1) Musty Odor

2) Errors/Interrupted Cycles

3) L-O-N-G Cycle Times (longer than time displayed)

4) Insufficient Cleaning Results

5) Small Water Leaks from the air vent behind the washer or at the
front door gasket

6) Damaged sensors

7) Reduced Spin Speeds (laundry not spin-dried effectively)

My dryer runs but will not heat properly and when placed on auto cycle and regular temperature it will not shut off and dial doesn't move and drying takes forever

If it takes several loads to dry on timed dry then the vent from the dryer to the outside needs cleaning, replacement or is smashed behind the dryer.

Dryer gas heat not staing lit

It is probably electronic gas valve, or safety valve that let the gas flow and shuts off immediately. Better take it to the repair shop will save yourself $75.00 service fee.

Most of the time it takes two cycles to get load dry

Sounds like an intermittent fault on the heating coil (or possible intermittent pilot failure). Or thermostat out of calibration (but I doubt that last one is likely)

This fault sounds a bit dodgy and I'd recommend getting a qualified appliance serviceperson to troubleshoot this.

Hello: I have a Maytag, do not know model # as I inherited the 5 year old model when I purchased a condo and it is now 7 years old. The front of it states Maytag - Dependable Use, Heavy Dtuty - Large...

I ALWAYS START WITH VENTING WHEN CALLED WITH LONG DRYING TIMES BUT I HAVE SEEN WHERE ONLY HALF OF THE HEATING ELEMENT IS WORKING, WHICH IS PRETTY RARE. A NORMAL LOAD WOULD BE WHATEVER THE WASHER HAD IN IT WHICH WOULD BE LOOSLY FILLED TO THE TOP ROW OF HOLES IN THE WASHER TUB. THE ONLY OTHER QUESTION I WOULD ASK IS IF THE WASHER SEEMS TO BE SPINNING OUT PROPERLY AND IF THE CLOTHES ARE GOING INTO THE DRYER TOO WET.

Tumble dry is heating but takes forever to dry

check your air exhaust (including the lint filter) from the air duct connector (remove duct if necessary) on back of dryer to the exterior of the building. Somewhere, there must be air blockage.
