My Kenmore series 90 Gas dryer doesn't heat up.

This dryer is what I like to call a 4 wheel drive model. Because it has wheels on the front as well as the back. To access the gas assembly you pop open the bottom panel. Strat the dryer and observe the gas assembly. You should hear a click and then the ignitor should glow. Next the flame sensor should trip and cause the ignitor to shut down. The gas will now be allowed to come out and fire off a blast.I have 2 home videos. on shows the operation and replacement of the coils. The other is of an electric model but shows how to put the dryer together.

I have a Kenmore Electric Dryer Model# 110.96551220. When i push the strat button, the dryer does not start but I hear a surging type noise. Any idea what is wrong?

you will need to remove the front panel, unplug dryer, open dyer door remove screws from inside the door frame, with a flat tip screw driver gently pry up as it is clipped and it will pop up, you will need to disconnect the door switch and sit the front panel aside. The top of the dry will lift up, on the motor look for two switches.buttons one is a reset the other is a trip. you will hear a click when you reset it. hopefully this is the problem, if not then see if you can turn the drum, it should be hard to turn but turn all the same. Hope this helps tim

Hello Ashley, I'm glad you are trying to do something for yourself! That's good. Usually when the dryer just'clicks' when you try to strat it, it means that the 'thermal fuse' has blown. It's a bit hard to get at, It's in the back inside the machine. I will send a couple photos to show you...

Starts automatically when I set the timer

This could be a problem with the start button switch (it should click when pressed/released) or with the switch on the motor.
