Click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the (appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have selected the correct speaker settings.
Click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it.

You can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any further volume control settings you will need to right click on the speaker volume icon system select adjust volume Click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check the speaker plug/outlets they are usually at the side of the laptop.

You will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make

sure the connection is good with no dust as dust causes static electricity Clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is

no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit.

dust causes static to build up in a computer http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for IE: motherboard name audio driver you might have to try a few times to get it right for windows 7 Click start right click on computer select properties then device manager scroll to sound and video game controllers if you see a yellow question/exclamation mark or a red X the driver will need to update drivers Click start right click on computer select properties then device manager scroll to sound and video if you right click on sound and video then on high definition audio device select update driver software Click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices right click on your speaker select configure speakers. Right click on the speaker icon in the bottom taskbar you will see an array of options select playback devices make sure it has a green tick and the correct speakers are selected be updated. If you computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it although once speakers are connected widows 7 should automatically update the drivers Click start control panel hardware and sound manage audio devices playback you might have to set a default go for via high definition audio then right click on speaker You might have to configure them then select properties you will see tabs general level in this tab make sure your settings are loud enough also enhancements and advanced from the drop down list in the advanced tab select dvd quality or another then apply Hope this helps

No sound (AsRock P4 Combo)

1.
Check the speaker connections - take the plugs out and put them back.
Make sure the speakers get power.
Test the sound with headphones.
If it is a Laptop be sure the speakers are turned on (Usually an Fn function key).

2.
Load a system restore point from a date before the sound problem started.

3.
Has the audio service been started by Windows?
Click Start > Run > type services.msc - then click OK.
In the new window - Scroll down to "Windows Audio", right-click on it and select Properties.
Another new window - set the startup type to Automatic, click Apply and then click Start.

Have a look in "Play control" and any other sound mixer you may have installed to check if the sound is muted.
Go to Control Panel >> Sounds and Audio Devices.
Check to see if your sound card is listed.
If no audio device is detected proceed to step 5.

Be sure the Volume is turned up (at least half way).
The MUTE box should not be checked (go to the advanced window and make sure that nothing is muted).
Select the proper speaker settings under speaker settings advanced tab.
Set the speaker setup settings accordingly.

Is your sound card the default playback device?
Right click the speaker icon next to the clock >> Choose "Adjust Audio Properties".
Click on the Audio tab and select the correct device.
If you make any changes - click Apply, then OK before you close the window.

If you use another type of audio program, please refer to that program's trouble shooter for diagnostics.

Creative Sound Card owners can try this:
Click Start >> Programs >> Creative >> "Sound Card", for example Audigy >> Creative Restore Defaults.

4.
Check to see if the sound card is properly installed in the Device Manager.

Right click My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware Tab >> Device Manager >> in the "View" menu - click "Show hidden devices".

If there are yellow or red "marks" next to the audio, "Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus" or an unknown device - install drivers (see step 6).

If Windows does not detect an ONBOARD (Integrated) sound card >> Check to see if it is ENABLED in the BIOS (Setup).
If Windows does not detect a PCI sound card (an Added sound card) >> Shut the computer down, disconnect power. Take the sound card out and put it back again - if possible, use another PCI slot.

5.
Install available Windows updates, including DirectX.
Go to Start >> All Programs >> Windows Update.

6.
Installing drivers:

6a. Install the chipset driver first >> Reboot.

6b. If a "Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus" is present in Device manager >> install the driver >> Reboot.

6c. Uninstall old sound drivers:
Check in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel for an Audio device driver (i.e. AC97).
Go to the Device Manager and uninstall the driver (Right click on the device >> uninstall).

Install the sound driver >> Reboot.

The drivers to install can be found on a CD that came with the computer/motherboard/sound card.

I cant here any audio sound on my computer

There are a few simple things to check first:
• Make sure your computer has a sound card.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button getopencontent.aspx?assetid=4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ getopencontent.aspx?assetid=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b&documentset=en-us&renderkey=xml If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category. If a sound card is listed, you have one installed. If no sound card is listed, You will need to install one. See Install or remove a sound card.
NoteIf you think you have a sound card installed but you don’t see it under the Sound, video and game controllers category, expand the Other devices category and check any devices listed there. 3. If there is a yellow question mark next to the name of the sound card, there might be a problem. Right-click the name of the sound card, and then click Properties.
4. Click the General tab, and then look in the Device status box to identify problems with the sound card.

No audio out put device installed

There are two likely causes for this:
1. You have an audio driver failure, simply install new audio drivers by determining what kind of sound card you have installed in your computer using device manager and then going to the manufacturer's site to download the newest drivers. Install these, reboot and you should be off to the races.
2. Your onboard sound has failed. Laptop motherboard failure is a problematic issue that could quite easily be the case. Repairs for this kind of damage are covered under warranty but else they are expensive to repair.

No audio out put device installed

@guest,@ arun_bhardwa

may be the drivers are not installed if so install the drivers which will be available in the manufacture cd given to you at the time of purchase ...
you can check the audio driver is installed or not from the following :
control panel >(classic view) sound & audio devices ....
if you have installed the audio driver it will display in this other wise it will display that no audio driver installed ....
if you already installed but also if it is displaying like that means there must some conflict in the drivers you can check that from the following :
control panel> (classic view)system>hardware>device manager
in this check the multimedia audio codecs are installed or not ...
check is there any conflict by going to the properties by clicking on the audio codecs ....
if so reinstall the driver by uninstalling it .......

or the audio device might have got disabled in the bios settings just go to bios (by pressing F2 at the time of booting)
& check it if the audio device is disabled or enabled ....
if it is disabled then just make it enable .....

these are all the possibilities just have a check with these basically .....

if these are correct means then only one last possibility that is :

there may be some problem in the speakers ....just contact the technician or make use of the warranty if you have it ...

in compaq presario laptops upto this time as i have seen there will be many problems just like after some days the speaker will not work etc .... so just contact the technician or make use of the warranty ...

if the capacitor is gone then you must get it replaced by the motherboard technician ....

just by having the check with these your problem will be solved

any doubts reply me
i am always here to assist you
thank you
bye
rate my solution
