When you call up "print" choose "print preview" where you can select if you want only one page, the whole document or specific pages!

We did that early on. Only the top page shows up on monitor. Document has been saved until we find a way to print it.

I believe you have a damaged Word program! Try reloading it from the disk.

SOURCE: problems printing with HP Deskjet 1280

When I printed powerpoint documents on a hp deskjet 1280 it failed to print lines. I found that this problem could be solved by changing the transparency attribute of the line to 50%. The transparency attribute of a line or shape can be found by clicking on the sequence format/shape-outline/more-outline-colours/transparency at the top of the screen

My hp deskjet 6540 prints ok at first but then halfway down the page the black turns brown, then red!

Please check your ink cartridge. If it is old change it. Also clean the nozzles. After doing this print the test page.

The HP Deskjet 6540 series printer has two print cartridge status lights. The left light corresponds to the left print cartridge, and the right light corresponds to the right print cartridge.

I used Word and Notepad and Wordpad to print documents and the printer shoots out blanks...or one partial page then blanks..i've uninstalled and reinstalled both Word and HP 6540 and i did so...

It really sounds like you might have bad ink cartridges, if you use re-filled cartridges they often have problems like you are describing. The ink will get clogged and not make it to the spray nozzel so the printer thinks its printing, but the ink isnt being sprayed onto the page.
