Did you plug in the USB receiver for the Mouse?

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse to the USB port, do so and it should work. Let me know if it doesn't and I'll give you additional info. Bud

SOURCE: Broken Wireless Desktop Transmittter

I had this problem last year, after e-mailing logitech they sent me a replacement free of charge :). Although the replacement is not the same thumb drive style reciever (which they didn't have in stock), it is a desktop reciever, it works perfectly.

SOURCE: The device that i plug into my USB port to enable

I doubt that you will get it as a replacement part from Logitech, and even if so, with shipping and handling fees it wouldn't cost much less than a new mouse. But you always can write an e-mail to Logitech support, costs nothing...
Repairing the receiver, if you don't know an electronics hobbyist next door, will also not be very feasible.

If you don't want to buy a new set, you should look for a similar second-hand set somewhere (garage sales, flea markets etc., electronics recycling collection facilities) - it may be, that someone else has the mouse broken or in bad condition, but the receiver will be intact.

My USB plug in thing for the mouse broke. Does anyone know where i can buy a new one?

It is called a dongle. To be perfectly honest, the price of a wireless mouse has sugnifacantly decreased, and they extremely affordable. I have seen them below 10 bucks. It is also possible to purchase a mouse that needs no dongle...some are bluetooth (if your laptop has that feature) and others are wifi capable. Of course the least expensive will be with the USB Dongle. Hope this helps.

My hp wireless mouse quit new battery's, reboot pc, reset mouse button, no light, seems dead "-(

HI there,

There is one sure-fire way to see if your mouse is alive. Plug its wireless receiver into a different computer and see if it works on that one. If it does, then you know that the USB port on the computer you usually use has the problem.

If it won't work on another computer then the sending unit inside the mouse, or the receiving unit you plug into the USB port is dead.

Marcus

Want to use wireless mouse with my laptop how can I do this. I have a window vista laptop

Just buy a USB wireless mouse. There is a transceiver that plugs into the USB port of the computer, the size of a thumb drive, and it sends and receives signals to the wireless mouse. In my opinion, a wireless, optical mouse is the best. Normally the footprint (size) of the mouse is smaller than a desktop one as well if you choose. With Vista, just plug it in the USB port and windows should install the drivers without any disks. But if it doesn't just insert the disk that comes with the mouse. You only need a driver for it. A driver is a set of instructions that tell the device what to do. Every piece of hardware in your computer has a specific driver.
I hope this helps and good luck.

I bought a logitech keyboard and mouse how do i connect to my computer and turn it on

It looks like a wireless keyboard and mouse. My Logitech keyboard and mouse have a USB 2.0 receiver, which plugs into any USB 2.0 port. Some have small USB receivers that look like memory sticks. It might be mounted on the bottom of the keyboard or the mouse. My receiver is a small box with a wire that runs to the back of the computer and plugs into the USB port. The receiver has a connect button to send a signal to the mouse and keyboard. Once they are installed you can use the button to make the mouse and keyboard recognized, by the OS.

Mouse won't connect

Dear, as i can understand, your mouse is connected properly but the problem is in sending signals to the computer to responed the actions of mouse. There may two reasons.

1. There may some kind of problem in the mouse, thats why, it is not sending the proper signals to the computer.

2. There may be a worm or virus that is causing disturbance with the mouse driver.

You need to check another mouse with your system or this mouse with another system to make sure about the real problem. If the mouse is workind proerly on the other computer then need to fix you computer by installing the driver again or by scanning your computer for worms and viruses using anti virus or need to install the operating system again.

Best regards.

What is the difference between mouse connected to mouse port and mouse connected to usb port ?

Nothing other than the port that they plug into. New mice will typically use USB ports and older mice typically use a PS/2 port. Careful buying a new PC or Mouse, make sure that your computer has the port that is needed for the Mouse to plug into.

Please rate, thanks.

The Mouse will plug into a serial ( com port ) if it's an older serial mouse.

( You'll want to put the mouse on serial port 2 )
/ in case you have an internal modem sitting on com 1 or 3 and taking up IRQ4 which would conflict with the mouse /
/ or in case of modem being on come 2 or 4 and using IRQ3 , just move the mouse over to com 1 /

Or the green colored PS/2 port if it's a PS/2 type mouse.
