Question about Siemens Gigaset 4210 Cordless Phone

Handset flashes "searching" and has stopped working

The handset continues to flash the word searching. I have the user manual and have tried to register both the handset and base with no luck. I even reset the handset to the factory default setting with no luck. Is it time to buy a new cordless phone or can this problem be solved? I could not find a solution in the user manual.

Re: Handset flashes "searching" and has stopped working

Did you already try cleaning the connections on the phone and the base with alcohol on a Q-tip? Make sure the connections on the phone are touching the base propely.

My Philips CD135 hand set keeps flashing "searching" and I cannot stop it flashing.

Try unplugging power cord for five minutes or so, this should clear the error.

Hi There.. Lost instructions..wanted to know how to change the handset setting/line settings.. want to change handset to different base ?? Hopefully you can assist? Thanks

First, you need to de-register the handset from the current base. Then register it to the new base. On the handset, press Menu then navigate (up/down arrows) to Handset Settings and press OK. Next navigate to Registration and press OK.

For deregistration: navigate to Deregister then press 3 3 5 . Then select which handset to deregister (1-6) (the handset number will flash when it is selected) and press OK. Select Yes and then OK. When the deregistration is complete, press OFF.

For registrations, navigate to HS Registration then press OK. Then move to the base and press and hold the Locator button until the registration tone starts. If all the handset ring, press the locator button to stop the response and start over. Within a minute and a half of the registration tone starting, press OK on the handset and wait until a beep sounds and the symbol on the screen stops flashing.

The user's manual is available here: . It's in the tab marked Operating Instructions. This will provide additional setting information.

I hope this helps.

Can't register new handsets

If you have a multi-handset system, you already have more than one handset
registered to your base unit.
You can register additional handsets to have up to five handsets per base unit,
with each handset's number (1 to ) shown on its display. (Note: each handset
1. Press and hold <PAGE> on the base station for more than five seconds, to
put the base station into registration mode. It will stay in registration mode
To register a new handset to your base:
for about 1 minute, so the following handset sequence must be completed
with in this time.
2. Press <MENU> and <UP/DOWN> to select REGISTRATION.
3. Press <OK> and you are requested to enter the 4-digit system PIN.
4. Enter the 4-digit system PIN.
5. Press <OK> to confirm, and the display will show SEARCHING.
If the handset registration is successful, you will hear a confirmation tone and
the <antenna icon> will stop flashing.
The handset will automatically be allocated the next available handset number.
This handset number is shown in the handset display in standby mode. If the
handset registration is unsuccessful, the <antenna icon> will still flash.
I Used 0000 As the default pin when asked.

Hope this helps you

IN 120 base keeps flashing CL

This is due to the base unit losing power and needs the clock resetting.
The handsets retain their clocks under battery power so this is a little misleading.

To reset the base unit clock:
- press the OK key
- press the 'down' arrow twice until "DATE/TIME" is displayed.
- press the OK key again, this will display the year. Enter the correct year on the handset numeric keypad and then press OK. (Only the last two digits of the year need to be entered).
- The date is then displayed in MM/YY format, enter the correct date on the handset numeric keypad and then press OK.
- The time is then displayed, enter rhe correct time on the handset numeric keypad and press OK.
- The handset then beeps and displays "SAVED".
- Press the "C" button and replace the handset on the base unit.

The base unit should now stop flashing "CL".

Onetel ot150 plus add handset

I don't have a second handset, but I'll quote from the instruction manual - Try this,

Regsiter up to 5 GAP cpmatible handsets to your OT150 base. New handsets must be fully charged.

You can use the same handset at home as well as the office by registering it to 2 bases.

1. At the base: press and hold "FIND HANDSET". You hear 2 beeps and the in use light flashes. Youa re now in registration mode.

2. At the handset: Press "OK". scroll down (with down arrow) to "REGISTRATION" and press "OK".

3. "REGISTER" is diplayed. Press "OK". Any free base numbers will flash. Enter the number of the base you want using the keypad.

4. Enter the PIN Number (default = 0000) and press "OK"

5. The handset searches for the base and when registration is complete goes into standby mode.

To test the handset is registered. Press "FIND HANDSET" on the base and the handset should begin to ring. Press "FIND HANDSET" again to stop the ringing.

As I say this is taken word for word (with a few spelling mistakes no doubt) from the instructions. I Hope that it solves your problem.

If you still have problems or you don't have the PIN number, the helpline number is 0845 226 7794, or e-mail

Panasonic Phone KX-TG6700B base unit Problem

FROM PAGE 38 of the manual:

If "No link to base. Move closer to base, try again" is displayed, even when using the handset near the base unit, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. You need to re-register the handset to the base unit..

1-Base unit:
Press and hold [HANDSET LOCATOR] until the CHARGE indicator flashes.
Press and hold [FLASH/CALL WAIT] until "Handset Registering" is displayed.
-When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset.
-Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete while the handset establishes communication with the base unit.

If... the handset beeps three times and "ERROR!" is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [HANDSET LOCATOR] on the base unit.
