It could one or more safety components not working properly. They need to be checked with an OHM meter. If faulty they should be replaced.

Bosch next 500 plus burning smell in dryer

Sounds like to me, but I'm no expert, the heating element is "over-heating and not getting the m"air" it needs to cool down enough to keep from burning. Literally I mean burn because the way a drier works is there is a fan at the heating element to blow the heat from the element to dry the clothes and if the fan is filled with lint it can't blow much air across the element and causing it to have the burning smell. I would check the fan blades and those are usually connected directly to the drier drive motor. I wouldn't use the drier until issue is resolved for the reason being is you can burn out the element and have to replace it too. Hope this helps you in you quest to the repairs of you drier :o) Jesus loves you John 3:16-17 (KJV)

Whirlpool gas dryer lg7681 heat

There are several thermal safety fuses in dryers which once blown have to be replaced. But, more importantly, they normally blow for a reason and simply replacing one without resolving the underlying problem of overheating will simply cause another failure. Lint is the normal culprit; vacuum and forced air to clean everything out. WITH THE POWER CORD UNPLUGGED and the leads temporarily disconnected, check continuity on each of the thermal fuses (they look like a stainless steel hat that might fit on a Barbie doll. Some dryers have four or five.).

No heat when drying

I have a Miele WT2780 where the fan motor stops spinning. This will stop the dryer from working even though the element heats up. The failure of the fan will not blow the air across the heating element and thus into the drum. New motors fitted are around £400 min. I am never going to buy another Miele - mine failed after 6yrs.

Another problem is the thermostat can trip. This is a small button inside the machine (TURN OFF MAINS ELECTRIC AND UNPLUG FROM WALL then remove the lid) on the right hand side of the alloy centre channel at the top. It has two wires connected to the switch and in the centre there is a small black button. Press it firmly and it will heat up again. If this keeps tripping then the air duct could be blocked with fluff. This is my next task as mine now trips more frequently so will post back here with instructions.
Update 12/10/16 - problem returned so dismantled top of air duct having removed the lid - tight torx screws - inside chamber was full of fluff. Removed and cleaned - all good now!.

Hello Dryer turns on, fan blows, and no heat (flame). verified no voltage at the ignitor. What next?

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Dryer does not heat but spins, what should i do?

Have you cleaned the vents out lately this could be your problem. The thermal fuse may be blown if so the operating thermastat may have caused it to blow. Check all thermastats , the thermal fuse, the high temp cutoff and the heating element. Be sure and clean the vents inside and out sometime something will get in the fan housing and slow the fan down or stop it.

I have a Kenmore dryer that is 4 years old, very basic model, and it heats only part of the time. At times when it is running there is a gas smell, no heat. Other times just the fan blows with no heat or...

The thermocouple may be going bad. The thermocouple is what "tells" the control unit that there is a flame. If it doesn't send it's signal, the control thinks the flame went out and shuts off the gas to prevent an explosion.

I have 120v going to fan ,thermostat has been put on 80 degrees and it still won't work .Do the heat sensors go bad ?

The heat sensor or thermal switch can go bad, so can the motor.
Try a few things;
shut off power going to fan. try cleaning out the thermostat housing using some compressed air on low pressure, or use a vacuum cleaner on blow, or a hair dryer on no heat. you can also spray the inside with contact/motor cleaner(home depot electric dept.) and then blow the thermostat out of any dust or particles that may have lodged inside.
To see if the thermostat works at all, turn power to fan on. Take a hair dryer on heat and place near thermostat - to see if fan comes on.
To rule out a bad motor, the thermostat can be bypassed by hooking up the feed wires to the fan itself, if you're handy with wiring.
Ventamatic web site does list replacement parts for fans... Good luck!

My magic chef dryer heats but will not blow air

A dryer fan is usually directly connected to the motor. If you hear the motor running, maybe the fan broke off, or the duct is really clogged.

Intermittant heat for drier

check for flow of air through the dryer arts as it sounds like the clicking is the thermal cut out activating, this prevents the dryer from overheating, the common cause for overheating is blockage (no air flow) or the fan that blows the air round the machine is not working, or not working properly, so check the fan see if its turning etc hope i have helped, if so please rate me
