HP 1703 won't come on

When I left the house the monitor worked fine. When I returned the monitor was off and won't come back on. I have turned everything off and back on a couple times. Pushe buttons, etc. and nothing works. is it time for a new one?? I am using my HP laptop now.

Thanks to all who replied. I have a new monitor ordered. Didn't think the old HP monitor would be dead after only 4 yrs. to Jan 29, I didn't know I marked a question of yours as "Thanks for Trying". Sorry if I did.

NO, it didn't work. My husband tried several things. Just gave up and since it would be out of warranty, I have a new Samsung 19" ordered from Newegg.com. Using the laptop until then...........

I am not computer savvy so I sincerely appreciated the responses.

Dear ddyer9659, I am sorry to say but your moniter might be dead. Are there any lights on the buttons that show its on? Make sure all the cables are connected firmly. Hope I helped!

Does the moniter have any buttons with lights that turn on when it is turned on? If it does and they don't turn on when it does. The most likely it is dead. Hope I Helped!

I had a question and you marked it as Thanks for Trying? There cannot be anything wrong other than if it doesn't connect then its the cable if it doesn't turn on, The screen is DEAD.

HP LP3065 monitor turns off and won't turn back on; is this a Windows problem

It doesnt sound like a windows problem. A simple test for this is to unplug the vga or hdmi cable from the monitor then turn it on if it has power it should say no signal. Also try either another power cable to the monitor or change the fuse. Hope this helps.

Did you check all four transistors (c5706/5707) on the board, also look at the bottom rubber seals of the purple casing electrolytic caps to see if they are bulging. And yes, yo can have bad lamp assemlies problem due to age or poor solder connection at the ends of the lamps.

Problems with my monitor

See HP 1703 album. You need to remove the old solder from the 4 inductors, clean the inductor leads and resolder, also look for purple caps with bulging tops, replace them.

Mymonitor is black and the on button from the monitor is green and is flashing

i havent seen this question asked, and believe me i have searched. i have compaq presario, windows xp media edition 2005, 64 amd processor, model # SR2017CL, with HP 1703 17" monitor. Prob-put computer in hibernate mode other evening, without turning it off. when i woke up, screen had diagonal lines going across it. i rebooted, well manually restarted, since comp would not respond.
Message comes up white with black writing, essentially, prob with active desktop, restore or turn off. i tried to turn off and screen went back to diag. lines. looks like the horizontal hold of a tv screen is asque. tried adjusting monitor to no avail.
tried a few more times, was fine for a few mins then went to same thing. now when i turn monitor on it blinks red, blue, and so on.
just whole screen that color. so i am at the point where i dont
know if its the comp or the monitor. (i am quite a newby)
ty for any help you can give
ellie
