thanks for the reply lady. i have to add that i bought the TV when i was living overseas in the UAE. Im not sure if that would be an issue though with power supply? it wasnt an issue when i first arrived back and used the tv in australia. Also, whenever i use any appliances in the house regardless if they are on the same circuit or not, it always flickers, be it a microwave or vacuum etc. From what ive read online this issue is occuring in samsung TV's in other models, and people are cutting jumpers to fix their problem. any relation to my problem in this tv you think?

Going by what you have said, I would still first resolder the boards even the Backlight Inverter Board. Most of these Tvs are not hand soldered they are Factory Dipped. I have been doing repairs now for over 35yrs and with the new LCDs I have found Poor Solder Connections and Bad Capacitors, Bad Caps will be Puffed up on Top. Friend of mine does Samsung warranty work ,I will try to contact him today and ask what is Samsung doing about this problem and if they are having alot of them with the same problem?

I have a ln-s4092d that had the same problem after a little more than a year of service. Replacing the main board seemed to fix the problem. But about a year later, the same problem has reappeared. I'm getting ready to replace the main board once again, but I don't really want to do this on an annual basis/

SOURCE: Samsunb 4051: TV screen turns off sound stays on.

Most likely this set has an "integrated" inverter, as most samsungs do--and this DOES sound like an inverter problem. Make SURE thought, there are no more bad "10 volt" caps on the power supply...ALL of them need to be replaced no matter HOW they look.

SOURCE: Flickering screen (likea strobe light)

Problem with flickering is in the board that is mounted to the back of the lcd screen. Part is only available in China.
Board will either need replacing or repairing (if it is repairable? Not all are)
I repair lcd monitors on ebay and just repaired one of these boards.

Samsung tv model LNS3241DX flickers

I'm not sure of a jumper wire to cut, but one of the first things is to clean out the dust that has accumulated on the electronics. You can blow out the back with compressed air or disassemble the TV case and dust it. Sometimes a layer of dust can cause excessive heat to build and shut off any type of overload circuit. Good luck!

I have an 07 chevy avalanche ltz and my headlights strobe they don't completly go off but they flicker brighter and then back to normal, its intermittent I have noticed that my interior lights also do...

Sounds like a fault with either the fuse board or a damaged wire somewhere along the loom i would go for the fuse board first and try taking a fuse out for the headlights and the side lights ect and chhecking with a meter to see if any current is present on the opposite side to the fuse

Sounds like you have an LCD tv with backlight problems. Check power board for domed capacitors and replace them. next check connections on the inverter boards. they are on the sides or just one side. Becareful there is high voltage output from these boards. If the cable from inverter board is not good to the screen you can get a strobing. the inverter boards may need replaced. or cales to screen may be bad. The panel also could be bad.

Hourglass picture. Panasonic CT-35G30T The picture is hour glassing from the sides. Starts to flicker back to normal after 1 to 2 hours. Getting progressively worse. Takes longer time to reach normal...

This is caused by bad solder connections in what's called the pincushion correction circuit. Some of the transistors get quite hot, and over time the solder connections to the TV circuit board become intermittent. When you tap the set, it causes them to make contact again so the picture is normal, but then it goes funny again. Resoldering the connections would take care of this problem. I would suggest calling a professional in to make the repair, which would cost far less than a replacement TV.

Hope this has been helpful, and thanks for using Fixya!
