Question about Hitachi FDX Series 43FDX10B 43" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Hitachi TV 43FDX10B has yellow line with blue curve line above it

The yellow line is in the bottom half of the screen- it goes about half way across the screen. There is a blue curvy line (like a wave) right above it. I've tried adjusting the color but it doesn't go away. This has been going on for about 2wks, now the entire screen pic seems to go bonkers. Everything turns to a green tint then yellow and back to normal, few minutes pass and it does it again. I have no clue what is going on. If you can help please be very detailed and speak in non technical terms (if possible).

It sounds like your convergence ic's are messing up

They have a kit for this tv it is available through local parts distributors
If you can't find it locally just Google HITACHI CONVERGENCE KIT

If you are not good with de-soldering and soldering do not attempt this repair. Remember to replace all the resistors in the kit

If you are not sure about doing this repair you should have your local tv guy do it for you

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together convergence repair kits for most models.

The kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, etc. Everything you will need to do the repair yourself.

Model 43FDX01B double vision with red ark across bottom . and no user manual.

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
