Question about Frigidaire Dryers

1 Answer

Frigidaire electeic dryer won't turn on.

Dryer will not turn on. Breaker is fine. 250 at wall and through cord into unit. Switches all have continuity. Power going to board. Still no lights on display or when door open. I replaced board and still nothing. Need help. How do I test user interface board? Any suggestions would be amazing.

Have you checked the door switch to make sure it is closed when the door is closed?

I will check that, but from what I've read that wouldn't keep the light from coming on when door open or the display from lighting up.

IF you find that you have only a 3 wire feed for this dryer (and the reason for the 3 prong receptacle)...then you can not properly install a 4 prong dryer cord to it. You now have 2 choices....either rewire (assuming that it is a 3 wire supply) the entire run from the dryer breaker to the outlet location with 4 wire (typically a run of 8/3 with ground having a black, red, white and bare ground)and install a 4 prong dryer receptacle to match the configuration of the new dryers cord.....OR - you can remove the 4 wire cord and replace it with a 3 wire cord....re-using the ground strap - IF it is still in place.

SOURCE: MY ROPER DRYER QUIT HEATING STILLS WORKS NO HEAT

The thermal cut-off , which is the small t-stat looking piece located at the top of the element housing ( on vertical mount elements ) or the far front of the element housing ( on horizontal mount elements ) , is usually the cause for no heat .

Buttons, sounds, lights all go on but the dryer will not dry

Hello toofdr - Often this occurs because either a fuse from the fuse box is blown or the switches on the breaker tripped, depending on your house. If your house uses fuses, there are two house fuses that supply voltage to the dryer circuit in your fuse box. If one of the two fuses is blown, the unit may turn on but will not heat. Check and replace fuse in fuse box if necessary. However, if the house has circuit breakers, there may be two breakers with switches that supply voltage to the dryer and if one is tripped the unit as well will experience this issue. The heater of a dryer requires 220 to 240 volts to operate. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household breaker to the off position. Wait approximately two minutes, turn on the dryer and select a normal cycle. If the issue persists, it could also potentially mean a number of other things: defective cord, wiring, control board or door switch. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the dryer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

My GLEQ2152E won't run

Hi cory_pettifo - Try reprogramming the dryer by flipping the household circuit breaker off or by unplugging it. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, then typically this is something that a professional would need to accurately diagnosis. Unit could possibly have a faulty power cord, house wiring, faulty control board, thermal limiter or door switch.

Are you mechanically inclined? You may have several problems. 1st, heating element is most likely burnt out. Then I would check ball and socket assembly that back of drum fits into. Also check felt in front of machine that drum rides on. May need competent service person on this.

Frigidaire gallery dryer won't start

It is code that every major appliance is to be on it's own circuit (breaker). I would have an appliance tech check the electric in the dryer for shorts. It's possible the terminal block got shorted. The best thing to do is buy a voltage tester, put it on the block and see if it beeps. If it does, the dryer is getting power and it's an internal problem. If not, then the problem lies between the breaker box and the dryer.
