Soyo SY-7VMA-B -supports P-3 tualatin (.13u) CPU's?

when looking for a cpu for the socket 370, be sure to NOT get the socket 370 cpu that is made for servers.

this type requires a motherboard made specifically for that type cpu.

use a search engine to find out how to tell if it is a socket 370 server CPU, there is not enough space here for me to explain it.
in that search you will also find out how to determine the answer to your question about cpu's supported by that motherboard..

most socket 370 based systems run pretty well, so you have a good machine there, and it's worth your time to keep it running, and to upgrade it.

WANT TO UP GRADE THE CPU 100 TO 233 CAN I DO THIS IF I CAN WHAT ARE THE JUMPER SETTINGS

depends entirely on your motherboard and cpu as to whether this is possible or not, try to find a motherboard manual for your particular model and look for 'overclocking' or 'cpu frequency'

Motherboard ID Motherboard Name Compaq Evo

as long as it is a socket 478 processor which narrows it down to P4 or celeron ( P4 being better and faster ) it should be fine.
Obviously it will state what processors it can handle in the computer manual so if you find the manual it should state in there.
I dont think it will handle more then a 3ghz P4

I want to add more memory.

Download and run CPU Z, it will tell you which motherboard you have. If you have memory now, try it in there even if it is PC3200, it will probably work even if it runs at the slower speed. If the computer fails to boot after you put it in simply take it back out.

On the other hand, if you are buying memory make sure you can take it back because some boards are very picky about what they work with.

No audio sound, mic doesn't work.

Hi,
For audio please install the mother board audio drivers for your PC. The driver cd is provide with motherboard when it is purchased. If this doesn't work, try connecting the speaker jack to front panel of your cpu.
For mic to work properly, make sure you connected the pink color jack of the speaker to the pink port of the cpu(Back side of cpu).
If did nor find drivers, download it from the internet by giving the motherboard type and the number.
I hope it should work now. Thank you

Sound problem

Click on Start>run, then type 'dxdiag' windows can then run a diagnostic test on your graphics and sound drivers. You may only have to uninstall sound drivers and then re-install original sound driver from motherboard installation cd or from the motherboard manufacturer web site.
