Kenmore elite duet 410 metal wire for gasket came off

The gasket came out of line and the metal ring which goes on it came off. Can't figure out where this fits to replace it. Can you answer this and give me some sort of diagram so that I can see where it is placed?

This metal wire is circular and has a 2 inch section of spring. I think it slipped out of the groove when my husband pulled a small section of clothing that was caught in the door out when the washer was in motion. At any rate, I am trying to get the sping back into what looks like the right groove inside the opening of the washer and it does not seem to want to stay. Thanks. Magpie583

The wire is a circular wire with about a 2 inch section of spring. It came out of its groove when my husband tugged a small section of cloth caught in the door when the machine was washing. I am trying to get the spring back in the groove and am a bit perplexed as to how it's supposed to stay there. It looks like the groove is in front of the boot, facing the door. Thanks, magpie583.

Worked great when I figured out how far to pull the bellows. I was trying to go too far the wrong way. With my dtr. helping we managed in just a minute or so. Thanks again. magpie583

If the outer door spring came loose, the following link will explain how to reinsert it:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385211-replacing_door_bellow_whirlpool_duet

The link explains the entire procedure for replacing the door bellow (rubber boot). Read line item 12 for instructions on how to reinsert the outer spring. It will insert around the door opening in a small groove around the perimeter of where the rubber door boot fits to the door frame.

What can cause this spring to come loose is over stuffing the drum to the point where items are getting caught in the door boot and pulling. I don't know if this is your situation, but offered the advice just in case. While the washer DOES perform better when more items are in the drum, resist the urge to overload.

If you still have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I know what the wire hoop is. That's what I explained to you in my previous post. This is called the outer bellow clamp. It installs in the groove around the perimeter of the rubber gasket where it connects to the door frame. The link I provided explains how the wire hoop is installed in step 12. Have you tried looking at the instructions I provided you?

F11 code on kenmore elite washer

My Whirlpool Duet did the same code over and over again. A repairman replaced the doorlock which is what the code indicates but was costly and NOT a fix. I finally sent my circuit board to CircuitBoardMedics.com cost $75 and has been running smoothly since. I figured this was the problem since when I jiggled the wiring connecting it, it would work again. There is a tutorial on youtube on how to safely remove the board. Give them a call! I dealt with my problem for 4 years by wiggling and unplugging wires wished I had found them sooner.

My duet washer is leaking beacuse the seal is not aligned right, the metal ring that holds the seal in keeps popping ou..any advice?

Carefully pull the nozzle from the window washer tube. Separate the plastic gasket ring from the nozzle. Insert the nozzle through the hole in the boot and slide the plastic gasket ring down the shaft of the nozzle so that the boot is securely trapped between the gasket ring and the nozzle ridge. Insert the nozzle shaft into the window washer inlet tube and insert the end of the water inlet tube into the boot. Fit the boot around the front lip of the tub so it rests smoothly and evenly. Fit the boot clamp around the front lip of the tub and tighten the screw. Be careful not to over tighten this screw. Damage to the boot clamp or the boot could occur.

The new four prong has a green, white, red, and black wires. The cord we removed is not color coded. Not sure what goes where besides green

red and black wires go to L1 and L2 power terminals and the white wire goes to the N- terminal "neutral" terminal and green is the metal unit case safety ground wire

To open the door, remove the bottom panel. Teach up inside on the lock side and find the pull ring. Pull on the ring while putting pressure on the door. It will open. Have the door lock wax motor and mechanism replaced.

My kenmore he2 plus washer door gasket is loose.

it goes on the groove in the gasket at the door , the side view of the gasket would be a V, it goes right in the middle. make sure the gasket is first snug on the metal frame groove. the spring is very tight, start at top then work down, use a flat screwdriver to pry it in at bottom. it may help to wet the gasket

Gasket replacement

The following link explains the steps required to replace the door bellow on a Whirlpool Duet:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385211-replacing_door_bellow_whirlpool_duet

Read through the link thoroughly. An alternate method is to remove the washer top panel and work from the top and through the door. The method I mention, offers the best unobstructed access. The placement of the wire hoop is mentioned in step 12. If you have questions, or require additional assistance please let me know.
