I recommend that you visibly check that broil element for damage. If you see no damage where it could be shorting out to the metal in the range cabinet and the element was on, then you probably have a stuck relay on that clock control board in the console. You will need to replace the ERC. Here is the part to order. To replace the ERC, disconnect the power and pull the unit out. Once you can access the back, you will remove the back panel covering the back of the clock. Once removed, you will access the screws securing the clock to the control panel. Remove the screws from the clock assembly. Remove the wires, one at a time, and install them onto the new clock assembly as you remove them from the old clock. Install the new clock in reverse order once the wires are connected.

You need a new mother-board.

I had the same issue, it overheated my kitchen in a matter of minutes. If I didn't turn off the circuit-breaker, I probably would have had a fire - the heat being emitted was intense. The cost is running around $300. with tax and delivery. I'm not sure if I want to repair or purchase a new oven.

SOURCE: Re: GE Electric Range JBP67BD1WH Baking Element Problem

Before you replace the range, I'd try replacing the oven temp sensor (part number WB21T10007 ) which is rather inexpensive. If I were able to get my hands on your range I'd first test to see if the control is sending 240 volts to the bake element. We know there is 240 to the range because the burners and broiler work, but is the control sending the full 240 to the bake element ? The only way for you to know this is to use a meter and test the voltage across the terminals of the bake element when in bake. Of course you should also test the bake element with power off and at least one terminal disconnected to see if you have about 20 ohms resistance across the terminals and no resistance from a terminal to the frame of the range. If not, you may need a new bake element (part number
WB44T10010 )
Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks for using fixya.
If this helps, a fixya rating would be appreciated. Thanks.

Kenmore electric range model 911.95875790, no heat to either baking and broiler elements.

Hello. I looked carefully at the service manual for your unit--surprisingly, there is no thermal switch inline with the bake/broil elements. Usually, if the bake or broil elements pop, this blows out the thermal switch, killing power to the elements for safety. The main control board can get damaged due to the high current draw during a short-circuit. The part number for the main board is WB27T10008. The overlay(the decorative sticker with the button/names on it) numbers are as follows: almond WB27T10022, black WB27T10023, and white WB27T10021. I hope this helps you!

Oven element

model T, either you have a stuck or shorted broil keypad or the relay on the board is welded closed. Try this, remove the back panel behind the control panel. Make sure the breaker is off to the range. Unplug the keypad ribbon cable to the main board. Power the unit back up. You should get an error code. Now if the broiler still comes on you know you have a welded broiler relay on the board. If the broiler doesn't come on..it's the keypad. Catriver.

My broiler and range work but my "bake" option will not produce any heat??? Please help!!!

If this is an electric range, it sounds like you have a bad bake element in the oven. The broiler and bake features each have their own heating element. Thats why the broiler still works. The following link explains how to replace a heating element in an electric range:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r469407-replacing_bake_or_broil_element_in

If the model range you have this question listed under is correct, the part number for a replacement element is WB44K5012. It lists for about $25 at pcappliancerepair.com.

If you have questions, or if the model number is not correct, please post back with your information so that I may be able to provide you with better assistance.. I hope you find this information helpful.
