Try to shut off the computer complety after taking the GPS out and then wait an hour or so then turn on the computer and try again or if your computer needs updating update it first then try to plug it in.

There is a plug on the back of my SD533hds,same plug as a computer screen. Can l plug my computer into the tv?

Yes, but you will need to change the settings in your computer to tell it to add a second screen or send the output to only the second screen and you will need to change the input/video source setting on the TV to the plug you are using.

I have a Polaroid PMP501C-4 model the screen inside the device is cracked i need to get it replaced but also the music doesn't show up when i plug it in the computer please help.

The solution is a simple one: buy a new music player. Replacing the screen will cost more than a new player, and the fact that the music is gone indicates there's more wrong with this device than a broken screen. I hope that music is backed up on your computer, so you can load it onto the new player!

Need to reset my mp3 player to factory settings

The LCD screen "might" be loose. It might need servicing. But first, try removing the battery and then replace it back and see if that will fix it.

My monitor is blank and the light flashes green and amber. i've tried checking the plugs, all is plugged in ok... driving me crazy

Verify monitor operation by UNplugging it from the computer and turning it on. A "Self Test Screen" shall appear (if it doesn't, the monitor is faulty and must be repaired).

Assuming it worked, plug it again and turn it on. After half a minute or so, turn the computer on. You should be able to see at least the BIOS POST screen: if you don't, there could be something wrong in the computer video board (maybe misconfigured, or set to output to a different, possibly internal, head - I saw it once with a Matrox VGA). Refer to the VGA manual for that.

If the POST screen appears, the problem is perforce in the OS VGA configuration. Assuming it's Windows, you can get into the safe mode boot screen by pressing the F8 key at boot, and once booted, access the video resolution configuration from the Control Panel. Set it back to something surely working, in your case 1024x768, and work it up from there.

Our compaq monitor will not go on. It is plugged in and the green light goes on when the button is pushed, but nothing comes up on the screen after moving the mouse. Our Presario computer is turned on. Any...

Make sure it is properly plugged into your computer too. (blue headed cord) should go from the screen to the computer. Make sure the cord is not damaged.

There should be a total of two cords needed (one for power (black) and (one from the computer to screen (usually blue))

No screen activity

Plug in an external monitor to see if it is booting normally and it is only a screen malfunction.

If you plug in an external monitor and the screen works then it's just a monitor issue.
If the external monitor doesn't light up then try unplugging the power cord, taking out the battery, holding down the power button for a minute and then plugging the AC back in trying to power it up.

If it doesn't power up. Then it's probably a motherboard issue.
I would get an external hard drive enclosure (2.5) and take out the harddrive and plug it into another computer to take the data off.
You can then send in your computer to repair somewhere but for the price, you may as well buy a new one.
