Make sure that the program controller is working if not check power - step down supply, the pads are responding- if not faulty pads- or the door switches, if the switch contact are not good then it will not trigger the processor to switch on the waveguides. If the lights or fan work without any display or action of program being triggered to start then it can be a possible fault on the main board or the processor. Sometimes insect secretion can short the board and display panel and so the processor can work in such an erratic manner. If so clean, solder and reset the board. Now identify the parts by clicking this link: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/microwave/a/5/141/identifying-microwave-parts.html

If there is no heating please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is faulty, the temperature cut off is faulty or the main capacitor is short. It is also quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron. Check this link to know how a microwave works:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/microwave/a/5/1443/how-a-microwave-oven-works.html

So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off. Check the wave guide covers, if food had deposited
then it must be checked or replaced. See link:
http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/microwave/a/5/1146/how-to-replace-a-microwave-guide-cover.html

Now keeping clear of the microwave, switch on; use a cup of water inside to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.
If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

SOURCE: Microwave doesnt power up

If there is no power at all then it could be the internal power fuse has blown, there could also be other parts faulty also. I would not recommend you to check this if you are not electricallly qualified as a microwave is a very dangerous piece of equipment to tamper with, even if there is no power to it. It would be best to call a service engineer to check it over for you.

SOURCE: convection microwave oven suddenly stopped

If there is no power to the unit at all, no lights, no nothing, but there is power at the outlet, then you are most likely going to need a new board. the Electronic control board controls everythign on that unit. I woudl call GE direct for service, adn depending how old it is they may be willing to give a parts and or parts & labor concession - they are usually pretty good about that kinda stuff.

SOURCE: microwave MH7130XEB-2 stopped working while

There are 2 fuses in your unit.

The line fuse: (Item 14) (20 A)

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=260484&diagram_id=93994#d93994

and the Thermal Fuse (Item 5) same link

Either of the 2 can cause your unit to no longer operate. Most of the time the failure is the line fuse.

Thanks for using FixYa.

SOURCE: My microwave suddenly has no power, clock etc. I

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya:
This is a very common issue with microwaves
Yes you are right it does indeed have a fuse inside of it
you first need to unplug it of course then take out all of the screws that are along the outer edge on the back there may be 4 or 6 ok next there are 3 or 4 screws that are on the sides that need to be removed ten if you take a small flat tip screw driver and insert it in the seam at the top towards the front you should be able to slide the cover back about 1 to 2 inches then it will lift up and slide off
Next if you look towards the front on the same side as the power panel yuwill see a electronic board it has the fuse on it it looks like this picture i have below simply remove the fuse and replace it WITH THE EXACT TYPE OF FUSE OK
then plug it in and ensure every thing is working if so great go ahead and unplugit again and put the cover back on ok but if not please post me back so i can continue the troubleshooting from there ok ? here is the pict

GE microwave suddenly stopped. Plug is OK, fuse not blown. Is there a way to reset?

No! if your microwave oven is 7 years old or less it will most likely have a inverter board that often causes trouble, or the keypad control board is defective.

My microwave just stopped working. No problems until now. In the middle of cooking it just stopped. No display, no beeps, no bouttons working, no light inside. There is power to the outlet I can plug in...

for the microwave to stop suddenly it has blown its internal fuse this is located under the top panel of the unit it should be white with two silver tips ( ceramic fuse) in some cases the fuse will blow for no good reason on the other hand it can be a serious fault the fastest way to check this is to replace the fuse and re test the unit if the fuse blows instantly then bin the microwave if not it the fuse may have simply failed

best of luck always remember unplug the unit first and always replace with same size and and current fuse

please rank this advice if it helped you

Microwave stopped working, no power. Checked

There are two thermal fuses.

One is located on the magnetron and another one is located on top of the left side of the cavity under the air duct. The microwave has to be removed from the cabinet to access the second one.

The problem turned out to be a 20 amp fuse that I was able to replace and the unit is working fine. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds nuts.
