Question about Dell Inspiron 8200 Notebook

1 Answer

Problem with my Dell Inspiron 8200 Notebook system speaker - no driver was installed... Thus, there is no sound coming from my system speaker at all - I have to use headpone all the time. Dell's driver download page does not offer this specific driver... Can anyone locate this speaker driver? Thanks.

I was just on Dells web site and they do have the sound driver for your laptop on there. I could send you the driver if you want or you could go there yourself and download it. I just typed in dell.com, click on support, click on drivers and then click on laptops, inspiron, then 8200 and it brings up all of the drivers for your laptop including the sound driver. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

I have a Dell inspiron 8200 notebook with XP Pro. No sound! All the correct drivers have been downloaded and installed from the Dell website. I think the problem may well be a driver for the keyboard...

If you are getting audio in headphones, then the drivers are correctly installed for the Audio. The headphone jack has a microswitch that disabled the on-board audio, that switch may be stuck disabiling the on-board speakers. If that is the case, the Motherboard would need replacement

No sound dell Inspiron 8200

If your touch pad doesn't work too, there is a connector under the keyboard that affects both the sound and touch pad. It may have come disconnected.

Running windows 98 on an inspiron 8200 notebook

When I've done this before, I had to goto the chipset drivers website in order to get the correct drivers for win-98.

This takes some time time, and a little hunting - you can goto driversguide.com to help get started.

Audio Problem after every reboot

hello an welcome:
1st use only the dell drivers from there web site.
2: remove the crystal 7,8,9 from your system ,
add remove software in control panel
3: run and load the dell software modules for sound.

reboot.

put the dell back to its original condition driver wise.
the dell comes with disks than allow recovery.
If you are missing these disks then the repairs get real hard.
Also you should be asking Dell too, how to do this after all it is there design.
log in to Dell and find your drivers is my answer.

My dell 8200 inspiron laptop right speaker its not working

My guess is the speakers or connectors have gone bad. I have seen this in a lot of different laptops.

If you are handy, you can disasemble the laptop, find the speakers, and get a part number off of them. Dell is pretty good about labeling the part numbers. Then do a search on Google and Ebay for the speakers, I am sure you can find some cheap used ones that work.

Here is a manual for disassembly of your laptop, and shows where all the parts go. You will need Adobe reader to read this.
