Since you gave no information about what you are showing in the video, I will guess as to what you want and need. I see 3 wires coming out of the plug rear. Two appear to be red and one black. Assuming the other side of the plug is really connected to the (assumed) radio and is (assumed) working, use the trial and error method to test with a good (assumed) speaker. Try the red and black first...

I need a radio wiring diagram for a Holden Commodore LS 1991


Regardless of colour coding, please follow the following instructions (require multimeter):


Note: Attach multimeter earth wire (black) to the vehicle body. Convenient places may be the metal ignition barrel, the vehicle's car arial plug, cigarette socket body etc.


1) Testing for voltage with key out of the ignition, locate the permanent positive wire. This will wire into the yellow wire on your new stereo. The yellow wire circuit powers the stereo's memory.


2) Testing for voltage again. This time you are testing for a wire which only offers power with the ignition turned on. This one will wire into the red wire on your new stereo, and will power the unit only with the ignition on.


3) Now you know which your vehicle's positive wires are you can now test for an earth wire. Switch the multimeter to the resistance setting. There is one setting which will allow a buzzer to sound once you find continuity. With the ignition off test each wire until you get a buzz and a low resistance reading. This should be your earth wire. Double check this with the ignition in the on position. It should remain the same. If it changes to a positive with the ignition on and with the vehicle's lights switched on, then this is the dimmer feed for the stereo's screen. If you unintentionally found the dimmer feed, then you can ignore this wire, and search again for a wire which only offers an earth.


Now you have your power and earth wires located and can wire these into your stereo before continuing.


4) Next you need to use the stereo's balance and fade controls to allow only one speaker output to work from the stereo. So let's start with Left Front speaker output only. turn the stereo volume to mid way so that you can hear when you have connected to the right speaker. bare the remaining wires on the car side and test combinations of the remaining wires until you find the front left speaker of the car. Wire your stereo's wires once you find the correct connections.


5) Repeat the above steps with all remaining wires, remembering to adjust your stereo's balance and fade controls to only allow one speaker output at a time, to ensure the only one possible channel to work and help you identify which of the car's wires power the speaker you have selected.


Before re-assembly of the dash panel, check that your stereo and all functions work properly, being sure to use your fade and balance controls again to test all speakers individually.


If you want to be extra careful and wire the vehicle's speakers positive and negative, according to your stereo's outputs, not that this makes much difference on standard stereo arrangements, then follow this next step:


Make sure you can see the speakers themselves and connect a 1.5 volt AA or AAA battery to the speaker wires. If the speaker's cone pushes forwards, then the wire you connected to the battery's + terminal is indeed the positive wire and should be wired as such. If the speaker does the reverse, then you have the wires the wrong way around. Do not repeat this test for extended periods as damage may be caused to the speaker circuit.


Tip: Always solder all connections and insulate well from each other. Stereo connections can corrode over time and are prone to movement behind the dash. Poor connections may cause faults and low quality sound.

Radio wiring code for 1987 mercedes benz 300. With aftermarket radio the windows switch ligths blinks and have no instrument ligths.


Hi, the aftermarket stereo does not use the illumination wire. You must tape that wire off (purple/gray). That wire is either connected to the wrong place or is touching chassis ground and causing your instrument lights to dim.
Connect the stereo's red wire to the car's black/yellow wire; and connect the stereo's yellow wire to the car's red/white wire.

take one of the front speakers out and pull out the head unit and unplug a set of audio wires(front right, front left ect.) and hook it up directly from the radio to the speaker there for bypassing all the cars wires. If it works then there's a problem with the car's wiring(maybe an inline amp). If it doesn't work, then try a known good speaker from somewhere else(home stereo speaker for example) and connect it to the radio, if the speaker works, your radio is fine and there may be a problem with the speakers. If it doesn't work then you have a problem with the head unit.

Disconnect all of your speaker leads at the head unit, make sure none are touching, then power it back on. If it still cuts out, check your ground, if it doesn't, re-connect speakers one by one and test power again. It will either cut out when you get to a speaker or wire that's shorted, or work just fine. it's protecting itself from damage by cutting off when speakers are either bad or have shorted wiring. Most common shorted wiring happens on door speakers at the hinge. If it continues to cut off without speakers connected and you have a good ground, the unit needs service. If it still plays and you find the speaker or wire that's causing the problem, disconnect the wire at the speaker and test again, if it works, replace the speaker, if it doesn't, replace the wire. 'protect' shows on the screen of my sony str-dg510 receiver and the power shuts off. What's this about? Also, how do you connect an ipod to this receiver.

My receiver say's "Protect" or turns on then off. What's wrong? Seven times out of ten it is a shorted speaker or speaker wire. To determine your exact problem, the first step is to disconnect all speaker wires "at your receiver" Next: Turn the receiver back on. If your receiver still says "protect" or turns off, it needs to be serviced. If your receiver stays on; reconnect your speakers one at a time and power back up after each speaker. You may find that after reconnecting all speaker wires it works! Most commonly the small braids of wire from the + to the - have touched and have caused the problem. In some instances, you noticed the problem only when turning the volume up. either way, make sure the exposed wires to your receiver are no longer than 1/2" long and are completely under the screw down terminal or slide in. When you've found the wire or speaker with the problem, your receiver will go back into "protect" At this point, disconnect the wire from the speaker at the speaker that may be causing the problem then test again.* Note* Make sure speaker wires do Not touch each other as this Will cause a short! If you turn the receiver back on and it stays on, you now know the problem is in your speaker itself. To test your speaker, you will need a multimeter. Set it to ohms resistance and touch the speaker terminals, if there is a short internally the meter will read "1......" If it's an analog meter, it will peg to the right. There's your problem. Now, within any speaker there are quite a few possibilities as to what could be causing the problem. Most common is a blown coil and the speaker needs to be replaced. Some speakers have internal crossovers (usually floor standing speakers) and may have a shorted or burnt board (usually very visible brown burn marks on the board) and can possibly be repaired if your handy with a soldering iron. Now, if you disconnect the speaker wire at the speaker and it still says "protect" Check your wire for the obvious cut or nail thru the wire if possible. If your system has wiring that runs behind walls, you may need to use your meter again. Disconnect the wire at both ends, keep the ends separated, put your meter on ohms resistance and touch probes to the + and - wires at one side. If the meter pegs to the right or reads "1...." the wire is shorted and needs to be replaced or repaired at the short. Hope this helps.

I need leads to connect my NAD C320 BEE amplifier to PSB T45 speakers. Not sure which plugs are needed to fit into the speakers.


From the C320 manual, Page 5...

11. SPEAKERS

Speaker terminals for speakers with an impedance of 4 ohms or more. Connect the right speaker to the terminals market 'R +' and 'R-' ensuring that the 'R+' is connected to the '+' terminal on your

loudspeaker and the 'R-' is connected to the loudspeaker's '-' terminal. Connect the terminals marked 'L+' and 'L-' to the left speaker in the same way.


Always use heavy duty (16 gauge; 1.5mm, or thicker) stranded wire to connect loudspeakers to your NAD C320. The high-current binding post terminals can be used as a screw terminal for cables
terminating in spade or pin sockets or for cables with bare wire ends.

BARE WIRES AND PIN CONNECTORS

Bare wires and pin sockets should be inserted into the hole in the shaft of the terminal. Unscrew the speaker terminal's plastic bushing until the hole in the screw shaft is revealed. Insert the pin

or bare cable end into the hole and secure the cable by tightening down the terminal's bushing.

Ensure bare wire from the speaker cables does not touch the back panel or another socket. Ensure that there is only 1/2" (1cm) of bare cable or pin and no loose strands of speakers wire.

If you're pondering those jumpers on the back of the speakers, my advice is to leave them in place and ignore them. Connect the speaker cables to either plus or minus.

Bi-wiring does nothing but make you use twice as much speaker wire for the same electrical effect. Bi-amping assumes there are deficiencies in your electronics that must be worked around, again by using more speaker wire and separate amps.

You 'looked' at the wiring but have proven it is defective by swapping the speaker independent of the wiring. What's next? Replace the bad wiring.
