Question about Bose Corporation AE2 Audio Headphones

1 Answer

Bose AE2 not working properly

When trying to hear a internet call, the audibility is very low. On songs or MP3s it has a echo reverb when loud enough. Jack is put in all the way. Tried it on several computers, Apple to PC.

Get a new cord from Bose. $8.00. You've lost the ground connection and you're hearing everything out-of-phase.

Weak microphone output in 3 inputs even when all the controls are turned up,echo works and reverb seems ok..what part is having problems?

I wish I knew the make and model of the mic you are writing about. The mention of echoe and reverb makes me think that they are built in to the mic or are you talking about the mixer?

What preset effect number is best for karaoke?

Always use echo and reverb, or just reverb for inexperienced singers. If I remember right this is from effect 19 but this is a very inflexible set-up with no control over the effects, just presets. You'll need to listen and decide what is best. You may also try chorus as with a decent effects unit this can be very effective plus a bit of reverb and echo.

Different songs like different effects and we will chop and change even in a single track when live mixing professional acts.

User manual for DOD DFX9 DIGITAL DELAY GUITAR PEDAL

Can't find a manual but can still explain. Delays, chorus, flangers, and reverbs are all the same effect except the different names of them will allow you different adjustments. Chorus usually has a width control which controls pitch shifting. Flangers and delays will have a feedback control which simply means, how many times you hear the echo. On reverb units, room size means how long of echo(even though it;s short) you want. Delay is the same with much longer echo, feedback is the same as on flangers except the flangers time is very short meaning the effect is at almost the exact time resulting in feedback causing a metalic sound. I probaly just confused you but good digital delays usually have all the features and will usually do all 4 effects depending on how you set them. If you want delay, set width on 0 and adjust time and feedback. For flanging, adjust width and speed and feedback. Chorusing, adjust time, width, and speed. Reverb, adjust time, set width on 0, and feedback. I see it has a level(mixture, how much effect you hear), and a replay(feedback, how many times you hear it), and a delay knob,(how long the echo will be) The range/mode switch allows for settings of diferent time lengths and INF setting allows for infinite repeat. Hope this helps.

Can't hear voice of singer on speakers, more of an echo sound

An old trick to remove vocals from a song was to rip the right channel, then the left, the combine them (since vocals are typically mixed in a third 'center' channel, though things like reverb or echo are applied to the right and/or left channels which sounds like what you are hearing).

I would play with the balance and mixer settings and see if you can get the vocals back. Also try other speakers or even headphones and see if you have the same problem.

Hope this helps!

CAN I ADD AN ECHO OR REVERB TO INPROVE THE SOUND

Well, I don't think you can add Reverb/Echo Internally but Externally.
External Echo/Reverb unit is available but most of them are AC Operated but Mipro MA-101 is Rechargeble Battery Operated.
You may be able to find Battery Operated Reverb/Echo units but they are usually Line Drive (not a Microphone Drive).
Go to a Music instrument store or a Guitar store.
Usually they have ton of these.

Though, You will not improve the sound much at all by using Reverb/Echo unit since you are very limited by quality of the amplifier itself too.

System echos when dvd is in. When I mute the Bose sytem I can hear the TV sound without the echo.

The echo you hear is the audio delay between your TV speakers and Bose speakers. Muting (or lowering the volume) on the TV will eliminate the echo. Some TVs have a setting to turn of TV speakers entirely, allowing you to listen to your TVs audio strictly through your Bose system.

When i dowload music on to my mp3, some music doesnt show up

Check the bitrate of the songs which didn't make it. If they are too low they are ignored. Also some machines won't tolerate VBR MP3s (variable bitrate) Downloading songs off the Internet can be the cause of this problem. Not all people converting music to MP3s for the Internet use the same specifications. In future keep an eye on the bitrates of the music. Many people use lower rates so they can fit more on their computers but the portable players don't always like them. BMW
