Fisher 143a CD Changer

I have an old Fisher 143a 5 disc CD Changer. I works perfectly except that its so old it won't play MP3 audio or MP3 data discs. I would like to upgrade the electronics so that it can read MP3's. Is there anything avilable that will allow me to do this. Worse case, is there any top loaders available that will play MP3 format. All I've been able to find are drawer loaders.

Hello....There are a few new units that can read the mp3 format...as far as top load units...the ony ones I know about is the prfessional DJ style units http://www.bhphotovideo.com This is a sight you may want to explore...but meanwhile...if you have a DVD player laying around...they can handle MP3 format just fine because the sound files on DVD's are MP3 formatted..So check out the site....hook up the DVD's audio jacks and enjoy....I hope this was helpful.Let me know how it goes.....I hope this was helpful.....PEACE...

He is right that you wont be able to use your current CD player for MP3. Am not familiar with your stereo so this may or may not work. ... Do you have an unused set of line level inputs? A late model CD player could be hooked up to the unused inputs. You asked about a top loading CD player. The only type I know of are the portable CD players.

HI...
You wont be able to play any new format CDs on an old Fisher or any other older make . It 's the internal decoder logic that's needed. And older players dont have it.
As far as top-loaders..Do a websearch . I dont know of any.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a Technics SL-PD627 5 disc changer and I want to know is it possible to convert it to read CDs that I have burned from my computer? Thank you

You will probably find that it is the way you are burning the CD's not the fact that they are burnt that is causing your problem.

When it comes to home made audio CD's there are two ways to go:

Method 1 (MP3 CD - only works with newer CD players):
You essentially copy music to the cd as if it were a usb stick and then click write these files to disk. This method allows for (depending on file size) upwards of 100 songs.

Method 2 (Audio CD - the Red Book method):
In method two you burn a cd in the same way that you buy most CD's from the store. This way allows you to add up to 80 mins of music/audio to a disk (method one is limited to file sizes - method two is limited by the amount of time each song takes up).

Considering that the Red Book method was made commercially available in 1982 (the same year as your CD changer), and that the MP3 CD came into play in about 1999 - it is impossible for your CD changer to support the MP3 CD (unless it has been heavily modified).

Sony 5 disc cd player won't play 5 cds but plays just 1 disc

Check the mode of operation. There can be a setting where it just plays one disc. Random or mixed will give you more songs to get to other discs.

Music plays normally at first then begins to cut out. The problem gets worse as the CD continues to play. RCA RP8070 Five Disc Changer. THANKS

There is a problem with the laser pic-up assembly(eye) 1st,2nd, 3rd,4rth music/track are recorded on disc from the center to edge.As the laser moves toward the edge the laser can't read perfectly the stored data on the disc. possible cause:the disc is in figure of 8, the lens needs cleaning, the suspension of the laser assembly, poor recording speed, spindle motor and voltage fluctuation of VCC

CD player will cycle through all 5 discs and then show "No Disc"

HI. the main board is ok. this is the actions of a malfunctioning optical lens assembly. the lens is unable to read, due to the damage to its structure or, the laser has burned out.

The main board is programed to issue the (no disk) alert if the lens doesn't relay audio data. simply replacing the failed optical lens assembly will fix this issue.
