SOURCE: canon clc-700 stops copying when paper sticks to drum

Could be one of two things.

Either the transfer / separation corona wire is dirty / broken, or the separation current is set wrong.

or

The drum separation claws aren't moving. Possibly a stuck solenoid.

Are you service technician?
You can try to clean the laser unit, try to clear dc-con like on clc3200, but first try gradation adjustment.

If you not an technician do not try to clean laser by your self

Print smears on right edge of paper only

It is possible that the fuser film is damaged. The fuser film covers the heating element. Open the back panel, and examine the area where the paper exits. The grey film should cover the same area as the lower black roller. If not, you will either need to replace the fuser or obtain a replacement fuser film and install it. Is the printer noisier than it used to be? The fuser bushings on these printers are notorious for wearing out and causing the film to fail. If the bushings are worn then likely a replacement fuser will be the solution for you.

Hp laser jet 3015, 7 horizontal lines, with ghost images printing/copying.

Hi:

Ghost images or repetitive image defects can be caused by one of two things. Either your toner cartridge is defective or your fuser is bad. The fuser is the component that heats up and fuses the toner to the paper. To determine which one it is do this. Start to print or copy something and shut off the printer just as the paper is going under the image drum but before it enters the fuser. If the problem you described is evident on the paper at this point then the problem is related to the drum. If the problem is not showing up on the paper at this point then the fuser is the culprit and it most likely would cost more then the unit is worth to repair.

Double images and dirty copies on left side of paper

This is caused by one of 2 things. It is either the toner cartridge or the fuser film is going bad. If you have a spare toner, even an empty one you can shake a little and try it to see if the double image goes away. If a different toner does the same thing then it is the fuser film. Now you can change you own fuser if you wish. Just don't let a service guy come out and tell you that you have to replace the whole fuser. You can have them replace just the fuser film because the rest of the fusing unit is usually just fine. I do fuser films all the time. $50 to $80 for a film vs. $200 and up for a fuser.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I'm getting ghost images on multi prints to the point it is unreadable, is this the drum or fuser?

The only way to tell is to start a print and power off when print is still inside. If you see the ghost before the fuser it's the drum, if clean before the fuser, it's the fuser. You can also open the back door and look at the fuser roller with a light, the fuser roller should be clean but if the roller has images it's time for a fuser.

Copy prints with image from previous page (lighter) as well. This is an older copier (Gestetner 2302Z)--is the fuser roller the issue/ Can I repair/replace myself?

To check if it is the fuser rollers turn off the copier before the paper reaches the fuser.Remove the 'jammed paper' carefully as the image will rub off and see if the double image is present. If it not then it sounds like the fuser. If it is there then will more than likely be the drum that is not cleaning.I do not suggest that you change this yourself.

Double printing

HP do not use fuser oil. The upper roller is made of a non stick coating. When this begins to waer the toner sticks to the roller along with excess paper dust off the paper. This is what will cause a repeat image on a page. You need to swop the fuser unit to cure this fault

4250tn print black spot

You either have a bad spot on the drum or a bad spot on the fuser rollers. Replace the cartridge first. If spot continues, take cartridge out and get inside with a flashlight. You'll probably find a piece of paper stuck to a roller.
