1996, 7.3 litre WHAT? If you can't give the make and model of your truck to help, you will need to find out for yourself by buying a Haynes truck manual for your vehicle at a local auto or truck parts place.

Where exactly is this "o" ring to be placed?

  • shawn candler Jan 23, 2013

I am assuming it is where the hard fuel lines come in, not real sure.

2002 Harley Davidson Oil Feed line leaking at engine

You have to get the replacement o ring. I'm not sure if you can just get the o ring as a part or if you have to get the entire tube as well. Pinch the black clips holding the line in and replace the o ring. You might havr to remove the tube at the oil tank as well to gain enough room to remove it from the engine.

My machine leaks

Your O rings may need replacing. Remove the back and side panels from your machine with a Phillips screwdriver. Look for signs of leaking near the hose connectors. Remove the leaking connectors by expanding the wire clamp with needle nose pliers. Home Depot has a good O ring selection.

I have a N59 FN air is leaking from the bottom of gun I put ne trigger and O rings still leaking now what.

Air leaking from the bottom of the gun (path of driver) indicates that cylinder seal orings are leaking (if without nails in gun the driver is slowly pushed down the cylinder when air is connected then cylinder seal is leaking ). Cylinder seal snaps on the top of the cylinder and should fit snug and have no cracks. Easy fix for cylinder ring. Remove head and pull out cylinder. Then remove the cylinder ring (part #n50015). Examine ring for cracks and replace as needed. Examine body of gun where spacer oring makes contact and sand fine scratches. Replace orings as needed. If air is leaking between body of the gun and nose casting, replace gaskets. Good luck.

Gas line leaking by engine how do repair that?

Where is it leaking? If its at the fuel rail fuel pressure regulator you may need a new regulator if leaking on the metal part. If its leaking at the rail side its just the "O" ring. Relieve fuel pressure(push in valve under plastic cap right side beside alternator on rail. Remove the torx screw holding regulator bracket. Pry out and replace "O" ring, reassemble. If its not the regulator it may be a fuel injector, you need to remove the fuel rail and replace both the upper and lower injector "O" rings. This however needs the intake manifold removed to repair.

How to replace the o ring distributor

Remove the spark plug wires from the distributor. Loosen and remove the distributor mounting bolt(s). Pull the distributor out from the head. The o-ring is on the distributor shaft. The old one probably needs to be cut off. The new one will stretch and slide into place over the shaft. Put some engine oil on the o-ring, and re-insert the distributor. You will need to turn the shaft to the right position to get it to fit back in place.

If you suspect that your distributor is leaking oil because of a bad o-ring, a new o-ring may fix the problem. However, make sure that the distributor shaft bearing seal is not leaking. You can check this by removing the distributor cap and looking for oil inside the distributor. If the bearing seal is leaking, replacing the o-ring will not solve the problem. You will need to rebuild or replace the distributor.

ON the second wash I did today, after the second wash my clothes came out with streaks of black. What would cause this?

Grease is leaking into the drum under the agitator cone.

Remove the agitator cone. There will likely be a removable plastic piece with an O-ring. Oil could be leaking out of the O-ring into the washer, and water could be leaking into the bearings. If there is damage to the O-ring replace it, or if there is a bunch of schmag that is compromising the seal, clean it out, and re-install everything. This solved the problem in my washer; hopefully it works for you.
