Question about Fisher Paykel WA42T26GW1 Laundry : Top Load Washers

1 Answer

Need to reset machine size per service manual instructions. Replaced burnt motor control module. Now getting error code?

Fisher seems to have the service manual under lock and key. Power utility spike burned out components on control module. Replaced module now seems to work fine until pressing the start button. Then starts continuous series of beeps and lights the wash progressLEDs for error code 9. Entering diagnostic mode results in no progress LEDs lit.

Hi my fisher and paykel washing machine is stuck up. When i turn it on it will stay on this mode-hold and the buttons won't work and won't even start. Can you help me solve this problem? Thanks

This is an old post I know

The wash progress lights are giving an error code. With zero meaning OFF and 1 meaning ON your picture shows an error code of 01000000
Switch machine off at the wall for a good 5 minutes. Turn on again and see if the same error again I am afraid this is what the service manual says::

64. (01000000) - Pressure Transducer Error - Frequency < 66 kHz
The Motor Control Module has received signals from the water level
sensor (Ptx) below normal frequency values.
Cause: Faulty Motor Control Module.
Action: Replace Motor Control Module.

The motor control module is found under the buttons panel. Undo the 2 screws at the back behind the buttons and the controller is underneath. You may have to pull the main lid off first to get the buttons panel off. Motor Controllers are not cheap sorry. They can be found on Ebay
MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT MOTOR CONTROLLER PART NUMBER ON THE STICKER. They may look the same but they are all different.
Unplugging the controller may seem daunting but count how many things you unplug and then you know how many to put back on. The plugs can only fit in their own sockets so you can not mix them up.
Hope this is of some help
Good luck

I took this from the service repair manual. Hope it helps.

HI error code 66 means you have a pressure transducer out of range error. This means that the control module is faulty and needs replacing.please confirm that the error code is numbered 66. On some machines the pressure switch is seperated and sometimes the plastic tub for the switch gets clogged up and blowing through it will sometims clear this fault. Not sure about this particular machine, but you can try adjusting water level to see if it will work at a different level of water.

I have a fisher & paykel aqua smart WL26CW1. I just replaced the module. I am now getting an error code of 9. What does that mean?

Hi dear. That's related to size error. When you replace the motor control module you need to set the machine wash capacity like:5Kg or 7.5Kg.To do that please follow the steps: Phase 1 to 6 Size Switch Error
The Display size switch setting does not match that stored in the memory.IW machines, Phase 5 and 6
To access Size Setting Mode. Push and hold the Fabric care button and then press the Power button to enter Size Setting mode. Select the correct size on the display by pushing the White button next to the correct size (phase 5) or using the Adjust button to highlight the right size (phase 6). Size setting is then achieved by pressing the Power button. Powering off will set the size into the memory. Check the size is set before starting a cycle.
I hope that helps.Thanks.
