Cd rom not working error code 19 acording to device manager .this is on acer aspie x3200. it will not run a dvd or cd on windows media player . have set all defaults to windows media player

To run a dvd on windows media player you need the corect codec, it is better to use "power dvd" or somethign to watch dvds. For the cd drive not working, this error code means it is not been reconized. Try doing the following. goto control panel and system, then goto device manager, uninstall the cdrom drivers and restart pc, maybe this will clear the conflict. Here is also a link to a fix programme by microsoft that will try fix your cdrom for you. click here

follow the instrsuctions and it will clear your regsteries and all for you, hope this helps

Dvd rom not reading, can't find it in My Computer

download REGcure from the net and istall it on your computer. run it and it will tell you where to find that code and delete it.

alternatively, since you do not have the disc anymore, find someone with the same windowa version though they would have different product keys. for vista, run upgrade so that you will not loose your data and the windows will be replaced with new registry. for XP, run the set up configuration as if you istall a fresh copy, after accepting the terms by microsoft, there would be options there to install a fresh copy or to recover the existing. press R to recover and wait for the next prompts. on this too, you will not loose your data because you not formatting but replacing the window with a new registry to help your computer to use all its hardwares efficiently withour errors.

bring feedback if possible.

thanks,
wonder

To solve this Code 39 error, follow these instructions:
NOTE: After removing these registry keys and rebooting, it may be necessary to reinstall any CD or DVD recording applications.
1) Close all open programs

2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter

3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  • SYSTEM
  • CurrentControlSet
  • Control
  • Class
  • {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
  • UpperFilters
  • LowerFilters
  • UpperFilters.bak
  • LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor

7) Reboot your computer

8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

Cd dvd driver has stopped working says code 19

if the drive is still good you should be able to go to device manager and go to the dvd and right click on it and remove it then confirm removal and exit and reboot the computer when it reboots and is up and running the new hardware found will show up on the taskbar and it will begin installation of the cd and it will notify you when it is complete if it installs it and it still does not work you may want to get a new cd/dvd/ rom or see if you can download a new driver from the web www.driver.pro.com
ok hope this helps out please rate this ok greatly appreciated mike
