No water from dispenser in fridge door

I have replaced the filter but no water. i hear the solenoid activating when i press the dispenser. i have heated the plastic water coils in the bottom of the fridge and still not water. is there a blockage or a pinched tube in the door or is the line frozen behind the dispenser?

Most likely the water line is frozen in the door. try letting the freezer door stand open for awhile to allow it to thaw out. good luck peyton

No water to water dispenser or Ice machine

Are you sure the water (solenoid) valves are actually working? You should hear a distinct 'click' when they're activated. If you remove the outlet tube from the water dispenser valve, does it pass water when activated? Have you checked that the solenoids are actually getting voltage on demand?

if the water is stored in a container matrix in the fridge (to cool it down b4 dispensing) it may have frozen up. best give the unit a complete defrost to see if this is occuring, if so the thermistors may be faulty.

What to do if water does not dispense from water dispenser

A couple of things to check: If equipped with an automatic ice maker - is ice being made? If so, the water supply to the fridge is OK. If not, look for a problem in the supply line (is it kinked, crushed, or is the water shut off)? Is the filter clogged? Some fridges will pass water w/o a filter installed - see if your will by removing the filter and try to get water from the fridge.

If ice is being made, the problem lies with the water "circuit" in the fridge (the solenoid, water lines, filter etc.). When water is dispensed from the fridge into a glass, a small solenoid valve on the drinking water line opens to allow water to flow. Many times, you can hear the "click" of the solenoid valve both when it is opening (on) and closing (off). If you used to hear it, and now no longer can, it indicates a problem with the electrical circuit that is activated when you try to dispense water. This electrical circuit consists of the switch, wiring and solenoid coil itself. The wiring will seldom fail - but those parts that physically move (the switch and solenoid) are very likely candidates for failure. You should obtain the schematics for your fridge and get a volt meter to troubleshoot the switch and solenoid. Of course, you could purchase both the switch and solenoid and replace them one at a time; and have a reasonable expectation that one will probably solve the problem.

Good luck!

The outside door water does not work

Can I assume the ice and water are activated by two different switches? The ice switch activates the motor that dispenses ice. The water switch activates a solenoid that opens to dispense water. If you can, find the solenoid and make sure it's not stuck closed (tapping it with a screwdriver handles usually help persuade it a bit). I would tap the solenoid while pushing the water button. Listen for the solenoid to activate. If you can't activate the solenoid, find the switch and depress it with a small screwdriver. Usually, these switches are just simple little microswitches that need a little cleaning and coaxing

I don't get any water from the door water dispenser on my HotPoint side-by-side fridge/freezer. What might be the problem and is this a fix the homeowner can/should do?

if you are sure you are getting water to the filter, check the filter for any clogs. when you press the switch for the water in the front, do you hear a click where the water line hooks up to the fridge? if not, the solenoid for the water may be bad and needs replacement. if you do, there may be a clog at the screen in the solenoid. shut the water off (basement), disconnect the water line, and the solenoid is where the line hooks up. there are 4 screws that hold it on. unscrew it and check the screen for debris. if there is, clean it out. if not, and there is no clicking, replace the solenoid. you can but one here: www.partselect.com.

Ice maker works, but I can't get a drop from the water dispensor

If you are making ice then the chances are that the solenoid or the switch mechanism is bad on the water side. The water valve has two solenoids that control water flow. The icemaker side is control by the cam switch that rotates on cycling ice drops and the water side is controlled by the door switch which operates the water valve. If you hear the click when you activate the door switch, listen to see if you hear a clicking near the back of the refrigerater when you hit the switch. There is also a possibility that the water inlet screen is clogged with debris.

MAKING ICE BUT ICE AND WATER DISPENSER QUIT WORKING.

Sounds like a plugged water filter, assuming the water is turned on to the fridge. If you have a manual, refer to the section about water filters. The filter is usually accessible from the front of the fridge at the bottom....requires about a 1/2 turn counter-clockwise. Some units require that the water be turned off first but not all.

If you do not hear a click when activating the dispenser, there could be an issue with the water solenoid (water valve) that opens and closes when you use the water dispenser....agai...check the manual if at all possible.

NO WATER OR ICE AT DOOR OR IN ICE MAKER

This is Gene's solution not mine, for a Ge fridge.
Assuming the ice dispenser works fine, the first thing I would check is the water filter, then the water inlet valve on the back of the fridge.

If the water filter is more than a year old it will cause restriction to the water flow.

Locate the water inlet valve on the back of the fridge. Remove the wires from the blue solenoid and check for 120V coming to the solenoid while the water dispenser lever is depressed.

If there is 120V then the water inlet valve has to be replaced.

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.
