You are probably plugging the mic in the wrong port, you should plug it in the other port looks the same.

How can I use the microphone on my headset? I have a Windows Vista and cant find the audio device.

Go to control panel and audio settings. Go to the voice tab and you can set the audio settings for your headset. If you have a sound card on the computer, the microphone jack is light pink and the sound jack is usually orange or green. Green is the color of the front channels and is usually shared with the headphones by using a splitter. The orange color of the headphone jack on some headphones is indicative of an aux. output such as the center back speakers of a 7.1 surround setup. If you have a USB set up, make sure to load the drivers and follow the prompts.

Hi again,

To your new concern:
  • pls verify that in "Sound, video and game controllers" in the Device Manager, there are no yellow or red marks;
  • check that all the drivers are installed;
  • thereafter, double click on the speaker icon in the System Tray.
  • on the new Speaker window, click on Options, Properties, Playback, check "Microphone", OK, uncheck "Mute" and slide the control up to desired mic level;
  • click again on Options, Properties, Recording, check "Microphone", OK, uncheck "Mute" and slide the control up to desired mic level.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
