Every time i try to play a video game on my 360 console it goes to the dashboard and says play dvd. i turn it off and try it again numerous times but it does the same thing every time. i clean the disk and there is no damage to it either. i even try different games as well, but i get the same result. can you help me?

is your machine older than 12 months? if it is then i think this would be a laser problem and you may be able to get away with re-aligning the laser itself but if not you may need to replace the laser. strip the console down and take the laser unit out of the drive, look underneath and there should be a part code or identification. replacements can be bought directly from ebay and you could probably fix this for around £15. Im also guessing its a samsung drive but could you confirm this?
