SOURCE: I'm trying to install a new heating element to my

Replace screws at rear exactly as they were. Entrance for this dryer is at the lower front panel.

Unplug unit first. Place a putty knife in the space between the upper and lower panel at the front of the dryer about 4 inches in from either side to push up the retaining clips while pulling on the panel. This will release the lower panel and give you full access to all the main components.

The heater is on the right in the metal can with the cover at the front. On the left side of the can is a thermal fuse that may be open to turn off the heater. There is also a thermostat that may be bad or interconnecting wiring. Remove cover at the front of the can and disconnect wires to element.Element should slide out for replacement. Look for screws retaining it if it doesn't.

Reverse above process for reassembly. Good Luck.

If this is the electric version then after 15 years you probably need a new heating element, they are not difficult to install and are not terribly expensive as a DIY project.

Don't know this model specifically, but this can also occur from a bad door seal letting room air in. Check all the way around both doors before major surgery!

Gas dryer not maintaining heat. 70 Series Kenmore/Whirlpool 76722

Fuse is ok . Problem is the soils on the burner valve . If the dryer heats when started , the electricity goes thru the coils to open the valve . Once the coils get warm , 1 will open (short) until it cools back down . The coils can be replaced just by removing the front panel . Only 2 screws hold the coils in place . No turning off gas , dissasembling dryer .

No heat

Hello Friend, Your problem is very simple to fix. You need a thermal fuse and or heater element, both very simple and affordable to replace. Try replacing the thermal fuse first to see if that's the problem. To replace the thermal fuse just remove back cover of dryer and look down where the air blows out. Now, just to the left where all the wires are you will see a white plastic part with two wires plugged into it. This part is called a thermal fuse. Just remove these wires and replace the thermal fuse. If this don't solve your problem you will need to replace the heater element. To replace the heater element, with the back cover off of your dryer just look down and to the right of were the air blows out. You will see the electric heating unit with two fat red wires plugged into it. Unplug these wires and you will see on the sheetmetal housing two screws that hold it on, one on each side. On older elctric dryers there is only one screw that holds element in place, it is on the bottom center of element screwed in from behind. Remove screw(s) and remove old heater element. Now, lay the new element next to the old one and take notice that there is a heat sensor attached to the old element where one of the red wires unplugged from. Gently remove this sensor and install it onto the new element in the same location as the old one. If you have an older electric dryer, the old heater element doesn't have the heat sensor on it, just skip this step. Now, plug in your two red wires and re-install your heater element. Your dryer will run like new. Happy to help, Tim.

970-686133 Bake and Broil Element not working

Typically what happens on on these models, when the bake element breaks, it sends a surge back to the oven control (or clock) and causes it to fail also. Sounds like this is what has happened here. If the overlay (touchpad) is a separate piece, you will need to buy it also. Let me know if you have any questions.
