SOURCE: flame sensor on a goodman heater

The flame sensor will be located either left or right of the burners and there will be only one wire leading to it. It is positioned so the flame hits it last. So if you watch your flame spread, it will be on the side last to see flame.

I have a goodman propane furnace, model # GMPN080-4 that lights for about five seconds and then cuts off. It does this three times and then stops all together. Tried lightly sanding the flame sensor and it...

The goodman furnace will try and light three time before it faults out for safety reasons. Adjust the flame sensor so that it is closer to the flame or actually in the pilot flame. If the flame sensor is inside the pilot flame and still does not stay lit, your flame sensor is probably defective and should be replaced. You can get one at Ferguson's counter sales.

Goodman Dependable 92, ignitor and fan comes on for 3 seconds, furnance does not turn on. Goes through 3-4 cycles, then shuts down furnance. If it is the flame sensor, where can one buy parts?

Do the burners come on? If so then yes it probably is the flame sensor if not then there is another issue not the flame sensor. The flame sensor could just be dirty take the flame sensor out and clean it with a piece of emery cloth or lite sand paper and put it back in and this should get the burners to stay on.

I have a Goodman GUPI100-5 pilot comes on but wont fire up.

Your flame sensor is measured in Millivolts not voltage. Is the flame spreading accross the burners at all? If it only ignites on one of the burners, you have debris blocking the flame spreader. Clean the burners and flame spreader bar. If you just as you say get a pilot, clean the flame rod.

Goodman heating element does not light

The flame sensor is not sensing flame. Inspect the system as it is tying to start and see if the flames are traveling to all burners and hitting the sensor. If not, clean the burner flame rail (the trough the allows the flame to travel from one burner to the next) or if it is hitting the sensor, clean the sensor with steel wool and check all connections from the sensor to the control board.
