Many thanks. I added a relay to the circuit when the power is dropped the NO / NC / COM switches over and I used another power supply within the cabinet to feed a buzzer and flashing beacon through the relay. Sorted!!

1) When oven turns ON, Power flows between the timer and the oven.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-pin-timers.html

2) For example the oven might be connected to pins 8 and 1.
Connect a light bulb to terminals 8 and 1.

3) Since the H3CR timer is rated max 16 amps, I suspect the timer controls a contactor and is not directly attached to heavy oven wires.
So if max amp load on timer is 16 amps, then it is safe to add light bulb wire without line fuse between timer and light.

SOURCE: I use Omron H3CR 8pin

I don't have exact schematic for your 8-pin timer.
Use multimeter read ohms and voltage from pin socket to pin socket.
Use multimeter set to ohms to read continuity of pins on timer.
Pin timer relays have NO NC pins.
Some pins are Normally Open (no current flows until timer turns on)
The other pins are Normally Closed (current flows until timer turns on, and when timer turns on, this circuit turns off)

Need to know simple wiring where power output pins are on eagle signal control off-delay timer #81Q2A605

1) Copy following link for general pin timer wiring:
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-pin-timers.html

2) Eagle tech support:
http://www.danaherspecialtyproducts.com/Eagle_Signal/Service_and_Support/Customer_Service___Tech_Support/

3) Fixya appears on 1st page of google search for this product, indicates there is no clear information available on the web.

4) Add a comment and describe the wiring diagram that appears on side of device.
Each pin timer has wiring diagram.
The image I found shows 11-pin base, and push button or impulse input connects to terminals 2 and 6. Image is not clear enough to determine more information.

Omron H3ca

Delay timers usually start with a push button, or momentary impulse of power. The delay begins when the impulse power ends.
H3CR-A is solid state multi-functional pin timer available in 8-pin and 11-pin models.
11 pin has six modes, and 8 pin has 4 modes

How many pins do you have?
What exactly are you controlling with the timer?
And what function are you using?

You want 3 minute 'off delay' timer.
When timer is energized with push button or momentary electrical signal, circuit remains ON for set amount of time, and then turns OFF.

Aug 15, 2011 Dayton/ Grainger website is offline

Most delay timers have 1 amp capacity rating, so circuit needs fast acting 1 amp fuse, and timer controls separate relay or contactor unless Load is equal to 100 watt light bulb.
