Question about Goodman CLQ36AR49 Air Conditioner
(New goodman 3 ton gas package unit) I Replaced the board in the unit, I have the same problem with the new board as I did with the original board, the unit will not stop running.I unplugged the thermostat wires in the unit and wire caped I then plugged in the disconnect. The unit starts right up in adition to that my led light is blank I cant see having two bad boards any sugestions I am having the same problem with my fathers two and a half ton gas package unit. After two new boards, after a heating cycle the combustion exhaust fan and circulating fans continue to run. Everything in it has been tested and checks out, but those two fans are still running.
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Based on your description, it would appear that the contacts of the switching relay are burned and have fused together. This would then make what ever the relay(s) are controlling switch on soon as plugged to the mains. Should this hold true, then it would be immaterial whether the thermostat is working or not or even for that matter wired to the system or not.
In some designs, the relays are on the printed circuit board of the controller while in some, it would be separate/external. Some designs also place a capacitor across the relay contacts to prevent arcing. Should the capacitor be faulty/shorted, it would exhibit the same, it would act as if the relay is engaged.
Would it be possible for you to post the wiring diagram if one is available?
Pls post back updates. Good luck and kind regards.

Tips for a great answer:
"PLACE A JUMPER (PIECE OF WIRE) BETWEEN Y AND W IF YOU ARE USING A HEAT PUMP WITHOUT AUXILIARY/BACKUP HEAT." if this dosnt work check the fuse in the air handler you may have blown it if you did not turn the unit off before installing.
