Question about Hitachi 50SBX78B 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Hello, Greetings from Hamilton Ohio. I have a 54 inch Hitachi rear projection television and I believe the bulb is getting ready to go because it takes about four or five minutes before the picture comes on. Once it does, the picture is normal. What does that sound like to you? One other thing...once the picture starts to come on it gets brighter for a split second and darker and so on for about three or four seconds and then the picture gets better very quickly. Any help you can provide is really appreciated. Thanks, TCD

And greetings from York PA!
Ok I have read what you were saying about your TV and after much consideration I dont think its the bulb because a bulb does not get better as it warms up! (most bulbs that are bad get worse as the TV warms up!) But capaciters do act this way when they go bad (stable when they warm up!) so I would have to say the control circut has one or more bad capiciters on it and will need replaced!
I hope this helps greatly!

Hitachi 60 inch rear projection TV sometimes it has lines going through screen, sometimes it shuts off on its own and sometimes it will come on but has no picture or sound. What could the issue be?

It sounds like a lot of stuff for a diagnosis, is it an older projection TV? Don't believe it would be the bulb with the fact the sound is affected. May be time for an upgrade!

We have a 50 inch Hitachi tv. Last night when we turned it on the lamp light and the temp light started blinking red and the tv would never come on. What do we need to do to fix it?

Probably needs the bulb replaced. Look in your manual for a bulb replacement number, surf the net, there is a lot out there to choose from. But.... make sure you buy a original hitachi replacement bulb. Hope this is helpful.
