get a fue qutips and some rubbing alcohaul clean the eye if visable and u should have a black shaft with 3 berrings that hold the cd/dvd into place clean that thuraly. do this with the batteries out and it un plugged make shure that u use extra alcohaul on the shaft. let it sit for a little while then try it. if it dosent work get back to me. please rate my suggestion. thanks

Check this link. I already rresponded to this problem before. You need some "soldering" to perfom. I already have the same problem twice, those slashes are typical sign for burnt out el. capacitors.

These unit have an internal fuse. This will mean removing the power lead, opening the case and replacing the fuse. Probably best to have a professional do it. Sorry, Shouldn't be expensive though.
