Make sure that your router and computer are set to get their IP addresses via DHCP.
Either the router is not setup as DHCP server or your computer has a static IP address assigned which conflicts with the router settings.
Do you have cable or DSL service (in which case the router should be set to PPPoE)?
If you have cable service, just reset the router to factory default by pressing the reset button on the back for about 30 seconds.
