In sufficient response. I paid $9 bucks for you to tell me to get it checked out.

Thanks Dageezr. This is much better response. At least you provided some more options for me to check before taking my system in for repair. This is more of what I expected for $9.

Hello dee

The speakers may have accidentally gotten disconnected because of a loose connection internally in the laptop. If it is still under warranty, don't open it, otherwise the screws on the bottom can be removed, they are held in with some locktite so it will be hard to get the out the first time. Then just follow the wires from the speakers to the board and see if anything is lose and just press every connection firmly in. Let me know if you have anything else that I can help you with.

Here is the HP troubleshooting document
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=3356620&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3356620&objectID=c00035555

From what you describe, I suspect one of the following:

#1 Internal speakers are not properly configured in Control Panel
#2 The Internal Speakers failed or are not connected to the mothreboard
#3 A sound driver issue (make sure you have the latest BIOS and Sound driver installed )
#4 The microswitch in the headphone jack that disables internal speakers when on headphones has failed and turned off the speakers.

No sound from headphone jack or internal speaker

First thing is to check the settings by using the speaker icon on the lower right corner of the screen. Then if they are ok and not muted, check the driver by using device manager. Since you did not post the operating system, I cannot be sure which way to tell you to access that.

My sound is not working unless i use headphones.

You need to check if internal speakers connection / cable is hooked up properly. You may need to open up the pc to see. If help needed on this, please as a technician to assist if you're not comfortable enough in opening it up alll by yourself.

If the connection or the internal speakers is busted, parts may need replacement.

DELL LAT INTERNAL + EXTERNAL NO SOUND

assuming headset is right connector, right? and they work elsewhere? that's the only reason headsets don't work, is that the jack is incompatible with the socket for speakers..
