Problem will be either low brush lengths or burnt armature. Check for arcing when running and excessive sparking will mean motor over haul or replacement.

I have a 12" dewalt miter saw. I put a new blade on and now at startup it makes a real loud noise.???? Took the blade off doesn't make it even bought a new blade no luck. Any answers??

Just a thought; maybe your saw requires a 300 mm blade rather than a 12 inch?

The popular view is the two sizes are interchangeable but there is a small difference in diameter with the Imperial blade being about a quarter inch bigger than the metric.

I had a similar problem with an eight inch saw. When I fitted an eight inch blade it seemed to be ok but when switched on it made a loud noise, similar to yours I guess.
I was unwilling to buy another blade so I modified the saw to give the blade housing a little more clearance so I could use the eight inch.

My Dewalt miter saw DW718 seems frozen. When I squeeze the handle, the blade doesn't move and the motor makes a sound like it's laboring, but stuck.

There's a little black button to press to lock the blade so you can loosen the screw. Did it get stuck in the in position? Can you turn the blade by hand (unplugged of course)?
I believe the 718 has a belt drive. Could the belt be broken and be buckled or twisted in its case preventing any movement?
Was it left out in the weather and did you get water in the bearings?

Why miter saw dws780 wont turn on

Have you checked the manual. My Dewalt Dws780 was not turning on, then I checked the manual and able to start it. There was some sort of plug issue with my saw but thankfully it sorted out quickly. I got this saw from this video recommendation.

Dewalt DW 705 wont run

Having the same problem. removed the switch and had it tested. They said it's good. Checked continuity through the cord. Good. Going to replace brushes...but then while taking resistance readings I notice the yeloo wire on the left side of switch was shorted to the white. Is that just a ground and neutral? SHoud it read that way?

How many watts required to run this saw?

15 amps x 120 volts = 1,800 watts. is what the book says. But although your saw will pull almost the full 15 amps on start up it drops drastically once running.

I replaced the blade in the dewalt DW716 mitre, now the blade spins slow and trips my breaker??

Hello, W/D here.

Remove your new blade. With the hardware, bolt, washer, blade and cups off, try the saw. If it operates correctly, re-examine how the blade is installed One blade cup goes on, followed by the blade, then the other cup, followed by the washer and bolt assembly. If the cups were in the wrong order, the blade can drag against the frame of the saw, pulling too many amps, and tripping the breaker.

I have purchased a dewalt 718, 12 inch sliding double bevel saw , private sale, saw was only used a couple of times and is in new condition .Checked cutting bevels and found that the left 45 degree does...

The fence may be getting in the way of the arm when you adjust the trunion assembly fully to one side or the other for bevel cutting. Adjusting the fence all the way out away from the trunion assy. should allow full 45deg adjustment. If this is not the case, it could be--even though its only slightly used--that there is sawdust built up enough in the housing to keep the arm from fully adjusting.

While the latch COULD indeed be faulty, it generally should always be tightened/locked so that the trunion assy. is fimly "locked" before cutting as this is designed to keep the saw from shifting mid cut, causing binding, uneven cuts, broken blades, seized bearings, etc.
