SOURCE: I have a 32cc trimmer

The small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects directly to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then "pushes" any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Again, on the primer bulb, the longer nipple has a line going directly from it to the tank. This is the return line. The shorter nipple on the bub has a line from it going to the metering chamber side of the carb. If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where sometimes the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank. Otherwise, the line should enter the tank for about 1/2" or so

SOURCE: trying to replace the fuel line and the primer

The smaller line is connected to the fuel filter in the tank and goes on the carb body opposite the end with the hole in the cover. A larger diameter line coming out of the tank is the fuel return line and has the little connector on it just inside the tank to hold it in place there
It goes on the carb body (if primer is on carb) by the bulb.
If there is an external bulb...the small line is the same...there would be a larger line going from the carb body (nearest the end with a hole in the cover) to the smaller nipple on the primer bulb. A third larger diameter line would be connected to the larger nipple on the primer bulb and running to the little nylon connector inside the tank. This is the fuel return line and the smaller diameter line is of course the fuel supply line.

SOURCE: not getting fuel replaced primer and hoses and not

It's easy to mess this up as I've done it in the past. If the unit has an external purge bulb, the fuel line from the fuel tank that has the fuel filter on it goes directly to the carburetor...near the part of the carb that holds the fuel pump and has the grooved cover (where an inbuilt purge bulb would be). The other line coming out of the fuel tank goes to the purge bulb. The side of the carburetor that has the diaphragm and metering lever cover has the line going to the purge bulb. Remember, this is not really a primer...the purge bulb pulls air and old fuel out of the carb and when it does this, fresh fuel flows into it...and then the bulb pushes that air and old fuel back into the fuel tank. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: String trimmer, fuel lines disintegrated, I need routing.

The Walbro has two connections on it for the fuel line. My Walbro has one connection on the side of the idle screw and main fuel adjusting screw. This connection hooks up to the suction side of the primer bulb. Usually the shorter stem. (You actually **** fuel through the carb instead of pushing it through.) On the other side of the carb is the other hook up. It draws fuel from the tank. This line will connect to the side of the tank that has the filter. The other side of the tank is your return and it hooks to the other connection on the primer bulb. Usually the longer stem.

I know this is a bump question With my talon chainsaw 42cc 45cm how do I give it a tune up coz its running rough

That's not a bumb question. So let me help you out.
First find a local dealer and go purchase a new air filter, fuel filter, spark plug, and depending on age new fuel line.
Remove the top cover this is where you will replace your air filter.
drian the fuel in the tank.
Get a long pair of needle nose pliers to reach in side the tank and pull out the fule filter, at this point if you are replacing the fule line you can pull that line out and dis connect it from the tank housing. If not just remove filter from line replace with new filter and reinsert back in tank.
Next using a socket remove spark plug and replace with new.
Add new clean fule and test run. If you equipment still is not running correctly it may need a few adjustments or possibly the carberator will need to be cleaned. If so let me know and I can walk you through those steps as well.
Thanks.

Stihl, FS81 trimmer won't start

Well I would go with fuel supply. But did you pull the hose off the carb inlet and see if fuel flows freely from it? You do have a filter screen inside the fuel tank on most makes and it can get plugged, if it is plugged blow compressed air back into the tank to clean it and then dump and flush the tank..

Poulan PPB 350 trimmer. I have replaced all fuel lines on trimmer, primer bulb, and plug. Doesnt want to start. Could the kill switch be bad and if so how do I test for this? How in the world do I get the...

The best way to check the switch is to diss connet the kill wire from the ignition unit itself, this will rule out the switch and the wireing up to the switch, with it diss connected remove the spark plug, place on the top of the cylinder and check for a spark by cranking the engine, keep the plug away from the plug hole when doing this. as for the fuel hose, the pipe should be long enough to come out through the filler cap hole, bend a loop in the end of a peice of wire, use this to hook the filter and hose to pull it out.

I have a homelite ut20585 string trimmer that i have put a new primer bulb, fuel lines and fuel filter on. i have checked the spark plug and it is good. i cannot get it to fire and run.

Ok you have to be 100% certain that you reassembled those hoses correctly, if any one of them is incorrect you are dead in the water as far as getting fuel properly. Tell me 2 things, Why did you feel they needed to be changed? and now that you've done it does the new primer bulb pump fuel at all, and maintain a full bulb of fuel after 15 min?

Replaced new gas line, new primer bulb, new gasoline. need to find out if gas line routing is correct / trimmer will start, but very hard to start, clean air filter. carb never been adjusted since new.

Line from tank with the filter on it is the supply line and goes to the carb inlet fitting. This is typically on the "bottom" of the carb (with the tank being up) and will usually have a fitting with barbs or a bulge on it to ensure a tight fit. The other fitting on the carb is the return line and is usually a straight tube fitting with no barbs. That line goes the suction side of the primer bulb. The third line goes from the outlet of the primer bulb to the return barb fitting in the bottom of the tank. Fittings have to be removed from tank to properly install the new hoses on them. Remove retainer ring on outide of tank and push fittings into tank, then shake out of the fill opening. More details on replacing hoses are listed in another post about Repairing Ryobi trimmer.

Have you checked the spark plug?

New battery but 1990 eagle talon won't start

Theres so many things that can cause a car not to start, can you smell petrol after trying to start? if so start with checking the spark side of things, if you dont smell gas find the fuel filter and follow the fuel hose to the fuel rail and squeeze the hose while some one turns the ignition on without starting. You should feel the hose expand when the ignition is turned to the on position, if it does then the fuel pump is doing its job. Like i said it could be alot of things but this is a good place to start. Is it multi coil set up?
