Re: Wont fire up, just reads E3
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.Bud

mp140/145 e3 error paper jam but no paper ,in my experience ,nag karoon nga ng paper jam at wala na ang papel pero still E3 pa rin !!!!!! ----na dis align yung sensor padel na tuwing tatamaan ng papel na syang swits on/off (example) sa pag pasok at labas ng papel
Are you sure there is not even a tiny piece of paper caught between the rollers? Most machines sense the resistants and give this message.Try rolling the rollers by hand, air spray the insides , lubricate the gears, you got nothing to loose.Good Luck.
Unplug the power cord then put it back up. This restarts the printer again in case the on/off button does not work to turn the printer off. Then check if there's a paper jam. To do this open the scanner lid and also the glass lid, just the way you access the inks when replacing them. Check to see if there's any paper stuck underneath the inks by the printer rollers along the paper path.
I work in a shop repairing these printers and have had a large number with the same fault - displaying E-3 with no jam in the paper path. This is caused by a broken part in the paper feed mechanism that pevents the printer from taking the paper. The part located right at the bottom of the printer looks like two white gears connected together with a central spring. At present I am trying to find a supplier of the spare parts - will check back.
