Question about Bosch 1199VSR 8.5 Amp 1/2 Inch Hammer Drill

Bosch VSR1199 hammer drill

Hi, I took the drill apart and found the slipping problem to be in the nose end of the drill. It's the larger gear , part # 33 ( ) on the drilling spindle # 24 that the chuck screws to. It will rotate completely around the shaft, as if it was broken loose. It turns a little hard halfway around the shaft (180 degrees) then becomes very loose the rest of the way. When I spin by hand it is tight, loose, tight loose, continually.I haven't quite figured out how it comes off the shaft yet, but I'm assuming I have to remove the catch disc # 36 first. This seems to be pressed on. The other gear next to the #33 large gear, #34 locks on the shaft well when the pins #30 are engaged. I believe this would be the lower gear. It has 2speeds, 1 and 2. I never did try to see if the problem existed in low gear.

Check to make sure part number 30 is not stripped out or the edge knocked off. I can't find a part number on Ereplacement for them but I am sure that Bosch would have it. It sounds like you are on the right track and the way you describe it the gear is bad and like I said I think the keys might be bad also

How do i remove the chuck?

Try this.
Get a large hex key and put the short end into the chuck. Put the drill into low gear. Place drill onto the workbench with the chuck hanging over the edge. Hit long end of the hex wrench in an anti clockwise direction hard. Sometimes takes a couple of hits.

BOSCH 11247 Hammer Drill will drill but will not hammer. Opened the transmission case and no parts broken but low on oil. Could that be why the drill stopped hammering?

Top up the transmission with PAG150 oil. The Bosch stuff is hideously expensive, but it's the same as the 150-grade oil used in car a/c systems. I fill them so the oil *just* covers the big gear.

On my BOSCH CSB 470-RLE 470w electric drill the chuck is slipping i can hold it in my hand and it wont move

It is a spring loaded hammer drill. You need to push the chuck down just a bit for it to engage the clutch. If it is still slipping then either the clutch pieces (items 23 and 32) are worn or item 32 is spinning freely on the spindle shaft. Here is a parts diagram.

I have a bosch hammer dirill that won't chip nor drill but motor run fine

Hi, have you tried the various positions on the front part of the gearbox behind the 'chuck'?
If so, then Im afraid it must go in for repair. These are not an easy fix and personally I would recommend you ask for a 'quotation' as it could be just something simple to do with the 'Gearbox' selector, but it could also be something a lot more serious within the Gearbox.

My hilti te-75 drills but is not hammering or will not go into chisel mode whay coud be the problem with it

Have seen this problem with some 'none' HILTI bits which do not fit correctly into the SDS chuck.
Tends to be with larger drill bits which have a wider shank than the SDS connector, the wider shank hits the end of the drill nose which stops the end of the drill bit contacting with the internal hammer.
Solution is to purchase original bits from Hilti. If you have OEM bits and chisel it will be another problem. Hope this helps.

SDS drill bits slips frequently

Take a look down the nose and see if the tabs 180 degrees from each other that accept the bit are in good condition. If they are it is possible that the clutch is slipping (321/22 and 321/37 fit together to create the clutch along with the ring that 321/37 fit into). Please let me know what you find.

Depending on the type of hammer drill you have, the noise should only be heard when you are applying pressure to the material you are drilling. Some drills have 2 bump plates that cause the hammer action. This is what causes the noise. It kind of sounds like the gears are stripped but the chuck still goes just fine. You do not need to grease this, it will make this noise regardless. However you may want to take a look at the gears and make sure they are ok. You may want to add grease if the old grease is broken down or there is not enough in the gear housing. Larger hammer drills have a piston and actual hammer. Such as the Bosch Bulldog series. If it is this type and there is noise when you are in drill mode there may be more serious problems.

Bosch VSR 1199 hammer drill keeps slipping in hammer mode

Inside there is a little plastic shaft, where the selector hooks to. They have had problems over the years stripping. Replacement part is still plastic. Yay! You may need a bearing puller or find some way to get the clutch off the shaft. Lemme know. Please rate me
