Usually an 800 watt peak sub would be a 400 watt rms. Hmmmm. Anyway, just bridge the amp (1x 380) nd keep the gain up enough to stay clean. Watch the sub and turn up gain until it starts to distort, then back it down a hair. Do this with the CD players volume up 2/3 to 3/4 volume with the BASS and treble at zero (bass better at minus 4 or so if you are a bass head! Hope thishelps.

You didn,t have the sub wire up properly, End fried the output transisters in the amp. Or it was not set (Properly)

Are subfoofer ts-w308d2 and amplifier GM-5300T compatible with each other?

Yes. You will be able to run this setup with the sub bridged across both channels of the amp, which will give you more power (which the sub will be able to handle: 380 watts rms), or with the sub wired to a single channel, which will give you less power (125 watts rms). The sub can handle 400 watts rms.

Amp has power but sub doesnt work

You say the amp has power so you mean the green l.e.d. comes on correct? If so and you don't get any juice to your sub, check your RCAs make sure they're hooked up correctly. If they are check the wires to your sub, make sure they're making good contact, if its a binding post connection to the sub it can look connected but not be i've had it happen to me before. If the l.e.d. is red, you either blew a fuse on your amp, or your sub is blown, but if you get a green l.e.d. on the amp don't worry about those. If everything checks out and you still don't get power, take your setup to a professional and have him personally look it over for you....... hope you get your bass bangin!!!

I have a Pioneer GM-5300T amp wired to a 10 inch kicker sub. The music plays throughout the speakers of my car but the sub goes in and out. I noticed that the amp's power light dims when the sub goes in...

Hello pburgfootbal,

You do not specify which Kicker sub you have or how it is wired to the amp. The GM-5300T is only stable to 4ohms in bridged mode and if your sub is a 4ohm DVC with the coils in parallel, it presents a 2ohm load. If the sub is 2ohm DVC with the coils in parallel, the load is only 1ohm. Either configuration would be too low of an impedance for the amp in bridged mode. I'd check the sub specifications and make sure that the wiring configuration properly matches it to the amp.

Hope this helps.

Car subwoofer problems

The cable should not cause the problem unless it is shorting out somewhere on the remote or positive cable. I would use a larger gauge wire first as this is the cheaper way to go, and if the same problem occurs you are having a short in the sub or box causing the protection mode. You will have to back trace to find possible cross connections.

Amp dosnt work right

your amp cant handle the impedance of your subs i.e your running a 2ohm sub on a 4ohm amp!

Change the wiring on the sub so instead of running at 2ohm your run at 4

if you need to know how to wire up your sub to run at 4 then take a look at this wiring diagram

take a look at option 2

Hope this helps if so please dont forget to rate :)

What are the correct spaekers for the gm 5100t ?

    CEA-2006 Compliant Amplifier Power Standard:
  • 125 Watts x 2 @ 4 ohms <= 1% THD+N
  • 380 Watts x 1 @ 4 ohms BRIDGE <=1% THD+N
  • 75 dBA Signal-to-Noise Ratio
  • Peak Music Power: 250W x 2 (4 ohm) / 760W x 1 (Bridge)
  • 2 Channels
  • Continuous Power @ 4 Ohm: 125W x 2
  • Continuous Power @ 2 Ohm: 190W x 2
  • Continuous Power Bridged @ 4 Ohm: 380W x 1
  • Frequency Response: 10Hz-50kHz
  • THD (1kHz, 4 Ohm): <0.015%
  • Signal to Noise Ratio: >95dB
  • Dimensions: 11 13/16” x 2 3/8” x 12 7/8”
  • PWM Regulated MOSFET Power Supply
  • Balanced Isolator Input Circuit
  • Oversized Screw-Type Power/Ground Terminals
  • 2 Channel RCA Inputs
  • Speaker Level Input
  • Screw-Type Speaker Terminals
  • Hi-Volt Input Level Control (200mV-6.5V)
  • Bass Boost (50Hz, 0/6/12dB)
  • Selectable LPF (80Hz, -12dB/Oct.)
  • Pioneer 1-Year Warranty
I'm assuming the subwoofers were bridged and couldn't handle the power. Make sure you have atleast 300 watts peak power wattage.

What if you wire a dual 2 ohms in series producing a 4 ohm load and bridged it? then each channel would now see a 2 ohm load, right? does a total of 4 ohm load in bridged mode also burn my amp?

i have this amp i bridged it to 2 ohms and its been about 3 months its stable havent blown any fuses and its a big difference in sound to. 2 ohms with this amp is definately the way to go. i used to pioneer 12's.

Can I Add two 12" subs and 2 pairs of 6"x9" speakers to my amplifier

you could try to wire the subs in a series which all positives are connected in a line from amp to pos of sub to pos of other sub , same for the neg.
