The "overflow" is actually the return from the filter. Try adding water to the tank until it is closer to the return level and the sound of splashing water will diminish.

New shower head installed and now loud rushing water sounds

A couple of thoughts, one being is the GPM flow rate (gallons per minute). The higher the flow rate, the louder the sound of water moving through the diverter valve. Second thought is maybe the supply piping might not be securely fastened. Does the pipe attaching to the head move at all? Also try just using hot water and then cold. If one is loud and the other isn't, you may have found the issue.

My Whirlpool Duet washer is making a loud squealing noise when filling with cold water, and/or the water is reduced to barely a trickle. It does not make the noise/reduce cold water flow every time.

Try to remove the sand filter(s) from the inlet hose. Both on the valve and on the water crane(tap) end. Common problem.
Usually this is the problem, but not always.

I have a split system trane I16i 5 ton making a loud humming noise when it is in the first stage once it kicks into 2 stage it sounds ok

Trane has issues with loudness of their 2 stage system. Not saying its normal just saying its common. If you notice cooling ok in both stages then it can be narrowed down to refrigeration flow is noisy or a solenoid valve is loud.

What would cause a new muffler system to be loud only during wet or cold weather?

do you want it to sound loud? if it's only during wet or cold weather it may be because your new muffler (if supposed to be loud) is for higher flow of gases and when the weather is cold there's more air flow to the engine. try replacing the air filter with a k&n drop in maybe you just need a little more boost. or you could replace the entire box with a cold air intake. up to you. also clean your MAF if you get the chance older cars specially imports tend to get dirty after the years

Motor is running continuously and is loud

The coil ubder the frig could be filled with dust/dirt and no air is flowing over it to remove the heat. This will causecontinuous running and force the compressor to work harder and louder. A loss of some refrigerant (freon)will cause continuous running but not likely to cause louder running. The fan motor in rear of frig at the compressor could be worn out and running slow or stopped and without this air flow the compressor never stops and runs loud. Also, the door gaskets (especially the bottom part could be torn and bot sealing well; this will cause continuous running but not likely loud running. Goodluck, Macgivor

Air conditioning fan makes loud noise the faster you ru it.

Concerning your broken vent -- this can be caused by a broken linkage or a malfunctioning servo motor as well. these vent have air ducts the sway back and forth to adjust the dual air flow function. if the servo o linkages are malfunctioning or not connected for some reason, it will not allow total control of the air flow and temperature range. Now, if you have a combination of a flow error and temperature error as well, thai can be caused by a combination of the two.

In this case, you will need to inspect the linkages as well as the servo motor function as well. in addition, i would test the air temp sensors for there operational value. they control the temp when you adjust the coll or hot function.

Concerning the Loud noise coming from the blower fan---

This issue can be caused by a misalignment within the blower housing or, it can also be caused by some minor damage within the motor itself, causing it to rotate in a erratic manner, in return, forcing it to rub against the housing itself. the best solution here is to extract this blower fan housing and inspect for lose fan propeller and motor stability. replace parts accordingly.

PLease rate and have a great day:)
