The data in the Sansa m200 device might be corrupted. Formatting the device should solve the issue.

STEP 1 - Connect the device to the computer 1. Remove the battery from the player’s battery compartment. 2. Put the hold/lock switch to lock. 3. Plug in your device to the computer.
STEP 2 - Format the device 1. Double-click My Computer. 2. Right-click on the player, which might show up as a Removable Drive, select Format. 3. Click Start. 4. Click OK when a "Format Complete" dialog appears. 5. Click Close.

Thanks but i solved it . paid 20 dollars to you guys , got told to return it , which seemed logical actually. But then i went on to another site and they said to start it and hold the start button down and stick a pin in the little hole , which i did , and now it works. was actually trying to answer to the guy who helped me so he can add that onto his list of remedies.
thanks anyway , your sincerely Ja
Sounds like your battery may be at fault, or if you rely on the usb to charge, then maybe it's not charging it due to power settings on the pc. Try charging from the mains without the player being turned on, for about 20-30 mins. Then turn on and if the problem is still there, then it's the battery.
I had bought a dock for my green ipod mini, and my ipod would be fully charged, and i would use it, and then 5 min. later, the ipod would die.. I figured out that I wasn't using it enough, and it was getting 'over-charged' (as i would put it)
i will help you if you help me i have almost the same problem my problem is i turned it on it was good i connected it to my computer and it froze??? email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you dont have a email make one some how!(:
I read somewhere that even with a functional lyra, when it displays "battery full", you should keep charging for another hour. This is said to extend battery life and give you an extra 2-3 hours of power.
Either this is perfectly normal, or it indicates that the battery reading tends to be inaccurate. In any case, try leaving it charging even after it gives you the message.
Another thing to consider is, how long has it been in the box?
I'm not sure about lithiums, but most rechargeables I know live longer when used. Live it alone for too long and you shorten it's life.
Could be good to get a second opinion on this battery thing though.
If there's a warranty, don't let it waste.
